I agree, Foden is an excellent footballer and I understand why a lad that knows deep down he won’t get near thr first team would take the £10k a week…it’s hard to swallow as a fan that your team is used as a pawn to give these lads a game…

Perhaps it’s the fault of the clubs paying them that in the first place but you can see few probably push for a move to a club like town when the facilities and money are so much better. Do they walk away at 24/25 a few quid in thr bank and tell themselves they made it? Do they walk away disappointed they didn’t or do they not care either way?

As thoroughly unmoved as I am by our qualification tonight, the fact this is the first time we have done so in 5 attempts since our previous promotion in 2016 says a lot about the depth we have in our squad at this moment in time.
