All of the forums that I post on have their fair share of wums and trolls,I don't mind wums tbh because if they are good at it I find it amusing even if I'm on the recieving end, trolls are just nasty  and just sit around waiting to antagonise people just to get some kind of kick out of it,they are easy to spot and you will probably know who they are on here, they are probably the same ones who act like nobs in your local or work and believe that they are amusing the crowd, although it gives only one sided view a solution would be to disable the red cross feature or at least show who has voted for what,it's amazing how many people know each other outside of the forum and would cut some of it out,I like to see the odd argument break out now and again because it shows that it's a healthy forum and people have different views but the red cross feature is just a magnet for the trolls

Why anyone would come on a discussion forum and then be offended that some people have different views is a mystery to me. Don’t post a view if you don’t want it to be challenged, the clue is in the word forum.
To worry about green ticks and red crosses as grown  adults is absolutely staggering to me. People posting “who could red red cross this post or that opinion”  have lost all sense of perspective. Sometimes people moan about this with ten ticks and one cross as if their opinion or the post is gospel and not up for debate. Get a grip, if you don’t want be antagonised perhaps you should join a group think forum on Facebook or Twitter, there are plenty. Don’t be afraid of a little Red Cross, maybe it will make you less sure of your own certainty, after all everyone’s life experience is different.  If they do really wind you up try to see them as little red kisses.
ps I can’t believe anyone would Red Cross this post

Steady on old bean, it does appear that you’re overreacting somewhat.  Calling people antagonistic, goading and rats because they have a different opinion to you is a bit rich, as is generalising people as idiots.  For my part allow me to clarify the position, we live in a democracy (apparently), if you’re not sure what a democracy is allow me to explain.  A democracy is essentially majority rule, I ask you therefore to explain, calmly and without aggression, why does an undemocratic institution like the monarchy exist in this Country?

There, did you notice how easy it is to articulate opinion without resorting to threats and abuse?

Of intercourse off you girl private, don’t come here with your logical and rational discussion….didn’t you know that if you’re opposed to the monarchy you’re an unpatriotic, Trotsky loving treacherous blighter that’s unpatriotic?

Of course, respect is earned…unless you’re the monarchy.

Some idiot tried to argue with me that cancelling footballing wasn’t a daft idea (the argument fell apart before I’d started given other sports are happening) and it showed respect…I asked what they were doing today instead of watching town…their reply? ‘I’m off to work’…

Couldn’t make this excrement up.

It shows how dumb some people are when they red cross a statement of fact. A red cross indicates disagreement and to disagree with something irrefutable is pretty pointless.

Only 2 things that create more vitriol than anything else…..politics and religion.

I’ve seen mates falling out over what is right or wrong, in their opinions. Was the same with brexit.

The decision has been made to cancel football. Nothing anyone can do about it. Respect each other’s thoughts and beliefs. If you’ve got nothing to say except being a sanctimonious bell end then stay quiet.

What I find particularly amusing is the same people who have black backgrounds on their social media and are acting like some Victorian mourners in widows weeds are the same ones who rail against the multitudes of rainbows for pride month. The truth is the symbols are doing and saying exactly the same things “I care more than you”
Personally I despise all the royal family is about, the unearned privilege, the glorying of the past, the I’m better than you because I was born this way. It’s all a load of feudal balderdash. That said I don’t hate the queen personally. I’m ambivalent to her as a person because I don’t know her. She may or may not have been lovely. I’m sure as hell though she gave as many shots about me as I do her. We’ve know got a bloke with sausage fingers for a king and it will mean nowt to me either.
The sooner we get rid of this outdated circus show the better we’ll be.

Tbh people don't choose to partake in any extra holidays to do with the Queen or anyone else since they are mandatory holidays. Do you want people to go into work anyway if they don't agree with your views? I'm getting a bit board of these nationalist pride bandwagons that get thrown up now and again for the royal family where everyone who jumps on gets angry at anybody who doesn't agree and acts like they are bad for using wrong speak. I'm not going to stand in the streets dressed in a Union Jack outfit crying about how terrible it is the Queen died when she lived a very full life full of privilege for 96 years. I don't particularly agree that the country should stop or with all the very dumb "respect" things businesses and so on are throwing out to be on the national pride bandwagon. Some stores are announcing they'll not have TVs in their electronics department turned on "out of respect", I doubt the Queen cares if anybody watches telly but we can't be seen to be enjoying ourselves now, can we?

Not caring much for the royals doesn't make me a socialist, not agreeing that everything needs to stop when one of them dies and nobody is allowed any form of public entertainment doesn't make me a bad person. I'm sure there will be enough flag waving, chest thumping, pride and tears to go around in the next week or so without me partaking.

I'm getting a lot 'bored' (correct spelling) with posts like yours.

Assuming you’re in favour of a totalitarian state, with control of them masses which removes all forms of expression and freedom? A dictatorship if you may?

Crap or an opinion?

Are you in favour of tax evasion?

Grooming of underage girls?

The unlawful killing of people?

The acquisition of artefacts via questionable means?

The elderly unable to pay energy bills whilst the largest diamond in the world sits atop a box?

All genuine questions, surely the concept of a forum is to recognise that the opinions will be varied. Factual often, even if one doesn’t agree with them.

I have taken issue with many a thing our Welsh friend Pen has shared but I haven’t blocked him, and nor me. It’s a forum. By definition you’re likely to encounter things you may not disagree with.

Simply blocking opinions one does not share serves only to create an echo chamber. A dangerous beast which has led us down this path of political turmoil and a country on its knees…

Great that we’ve got something to distract us all though…
