Rochdale have sacked Robbie, probably clutching at straws to credit this one to the Grim Reaper!

Thought Rochdale played quite well actually

Think they’ve lost all their games by the odd goal so really small margins and it seems a very premature decision to me which is too typical of modern day football.

He has been battling against a pretty poor budget and lots of financial restraints and dodgy goings on behind the scenes ever since he took the role.

If you’re gonna lose 4 games on the bounce, try not to do it at the start of the season.

Seems a bit hasty after 4 games, but that's the way of it with a lot of clubs now.

People slating the decision do realise he also took them down last season, right?

I thought they just looked like a team that was just a striker away from being a threat in this league so its a little bit of a suprise.

I think if you also consider there were only around 2100 Dale fans at the game.....then owners will start to sweat as well.

Haha oh I thought they'd come down from League 1 last season!

I remember going to watch town away at Rochdale in the 2009-10 season where they had O'Grady, Dagnall and Le Fondre and we lost 2-0 at their place I believe but having a team with the likes of Gary Jones, Jason Kennedy, Joe Thompson, our own infamous Kenny Arthur and Craig Dawson whos gone to play levels above.. that was one of the best League Two teams I've seen barring Crewe a few seasons ago under David Artell at BP

Absolutely no end product. Spent most of the second half doing needless rollovers on the halfway line, one of which went wrong and ended up going straight to Taylor. A poor man’s Sousa but with an attitude problem.

I would much rather have Seriki who was on loan from Sheff Utd.

A little harsh, he put a couple of good passes across the box early on that were messed up by somebody else. Second half he was ineffective from a combination of being pressed early and doing the same thing every time that became predictable for Efete.  

After Saturday I thought they’d really struggle this season.  Yes they dominated the first half but they were incredibly poor in both boxes.  They couldn’t finish if their life depended on it and they were so poor defensively.  They didn’t mark Waterfall from any set pieces, which wouldn’t take much research to see how big a threat that is.  Maybe their owners thought the same.

With our ever-growing staff body, I certainly wouldn't be against having Stockdale back in the town set-up while he gets himself sorted as either a first-team manager somewhere, onto pastures new, or stays here more permanently.

Both Hursty and Stockdale both spoke glowingly about one another in the presser pre-game so could be a really positive working relationship.

His stock (excuse the pun) is probably still high from his work at Sunderland, Hibs and West Brom as a coach, enough to see him get a decent coaching gig in the top couple of levels.

Seemed a huge ask for a first stab at management, caretaker spells aside, with Rochdale having many off field issues in the last few years.  

I’ve said this before on here but 25% of being a successful manager is luck, 25% is ability and hard work and the rest is picking the right job in the first place.

Hurst had no chance at Ipswich and Scunthorpe. They were impossible jobs, just like Stockdale being asked to steady the sinking ship at Rochdale.

Benitez at Everton. Bruce at Newcastle. Hill at Scunthorpe. Probably Ten Hag at Man United (unless Casemiro’s legs have got something left in them).
