Hi all ..... after supporting Town for 46 years, I purchased my first ever season ticket for this campaign. My question is ....
I can't make the game tonight and I have noticed that there is a 'release my seat' option on the website. So what happens if I release my seat, do I get a credit  (not looking or expecting one btw) or does the club benefit (of which I don't have a problem with).

Any answers fellow Mariners.

Pretty sure you don’t get anything it’s just freed for resale.

The best thing to do is lend it to a mate if you can’t make it

That's what I have decided to do.

On the same subject ..... does the club re-sell the returned game ticket for the full price or, bearing in mind that the seat has already been paid for, sell it as a concession?

I’d be interested to see how many of the ‘returned’ ST are shifted?

It’s a sensible idea and whilst it’s probably not prudent to offer something back in return cash wise, perhaps a discount code or drinks voucher perhaps?

I would prefer the seat to be sold at full price to give more money to the club.

I have released my seat for tonight's Carlisle game and the forthcoming Sutton game, so far, and have noticed they was sold very quickly.

Why doesn't somebody ask the club, phone, email or twitter? I'm sure you'd get the official reply.

You can please some of the forumites some of the time but not all the forumites all of the time

Even just doing this must be a cracking windfall for the Club over the course of the season ? Amazing what can happen when proper business savvy people working at the Club can make .

It's a brilliant idea, especially whilst we're on the crest of a wave, gives a bit more cash to the club and offers fans that wouldn't have otherwise been able to get a ticket to get one.

There's games I'll have to miss for various reasons, and I'd rather my seat was filled than sat empty.

But importantly the whole ethos of 1878 means that STH appear happy to do this without reward.

My own view is that something should be given - discount code for the club shop but ideally credit on the ST card for renewal next season

Credit for next seasons season ticket though would mean the club would lose out on money. It’s not the clubs fault if you can’t make some matches, that’s the commitment you make when you buy one.

Not sure about that the season ticket holder paid £18 for the match he donates it to the club who resell it for £23 they credit the holder £5 against next years st so the club as actually made £36 for the match.

That's assuming the seat sells...

Unless it's a total home sell out, the club don't make anything extra.

That’s an IT thing - the system would only generate the credit of the seat resells. Might have to be manually done - by TO staff which would be a burden.

Any road up - difficulty reselling doesn’t apply tonight we are down to fewer than 100 seats now.  Another home sell out.

And I bet there will still be 500-1000 seats empty

If I can’t make a game I’m happy to release my ticket and don’t want reimbursing for it. Alternatively, in the spirit of the play off final, as the cost of living crisis deepens, I’d be happy for my ticket to go to someone who just can’t afford it during these difficult times. Not sure how easy this would be to organise but perhaps worth a thought.
