From the BBC sports page:-

Brentford have secured their biggest top flight victory since beating Grimsby Town 6-1 in April 1938.

"Brentford have secured their biggest top flight victory since beating Grimsby Town 6-1 in April 1938."

There you go, a relevant Town connection for a Town site. 😎

To be fair if United and Liverpool went into free fall I’d expect lower league football clubs to benefit .
There’s loads of phoneys up and down the country that would drop back to their local sides

Even in defeat we're better than Man Utd!

Hope we get them after we tank Forest

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I knew when I started this thread that this was a possibility

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I was at Brentford today. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The fourth goal was absolutely marvellous.

Seeing Town had won in stoppage time and the Scunts had lost before the Bees match started made me think it might be my day.

I should be spared the patronising comments I got last season when Man Utd took six points off us.

I'm glad the result has cheered others.

But Town have won more often at Brentford than any other team bar one. I've seen us win five times at Griffin Park with just two defeats.

But Man Utd weren’t in the National League last season?

At the moment they’re the gift that keeps on giving. I suspect more folk are finding it dunnier after they spent the best part of twenty years being arrogant male masturbators mocking everyone else and putting themselves on a pedestal.

No doubt they’ve been successful, not doubt the likes of city and Chelsea have a way to go to catch them up but right now Man Utd are a club in complete and utter disarray. Real Utd fans know this and are honest about it, the pub going chart wearers that have the rose tinted specs can’t see it.

At present I reckon half the championship teams would beat them. They bought ronaldo in sheer panic, they had a manager in Jose who actually won things but he upset the apple cart and they didn’t like it and now they’ve got a bloke who has gone from a cushy, albeit successful job in Holland and are pinning their hopes on him turning it around. The club is rotten.

They have a midfield pairing of Fred and Mctominay…I can hand on heart say I’d want neither at town. That pairing is symptomatic of the state of the club.

They’ve got Fergie hanging around like dogshit on your shoe which doesn’t help and zero investment other than spaffing cash on silly signings.

Long May it continue…
