Will season ticket holders get first dibs?

Should be a big crowd.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Quite a few that they'll consider and suspect we might miss out to Fleetwood vs Everton, Stockport vs Leicester and Bolton vs Villa but fingers crossed.

I read recently that Forest fans said that they would fill all their away allocations in the PL this season.  I presume that this will include their allocation for BP as well?  Especially as we are local geographically and something of a novel ground for them.

Full house home ends and away end then.

Give Forest the entire Osmond stand.

1 for 1 for STH, assuming they all purchase one, leaves you around 1500 for the rest, again, can’t see many not getting one.

Hope it’s Wednesday otherwise I’m going to be sat in Costa in Freshney place doing Teams calls all day on the Tuesday rather than my office in London.

Will be a sell out and a good atmosphere, let’s hope Forest are completely focused on staying in the prem this season and don’t care about the cups.

It'll probably just be their kids. I don't think that winning the Caribou Cup will be top of Forests priorities this season.

Yep, Forest would happily lose every cup match 11-0 if it helped then finish the season 1 point above the drop. Question is whether or not their yoof with a few senior pros sprinkled in will be good enough to compete.

No wonder you still think capacity isn’t an issue.
There are only around 600 none Season ticket holder seats in the ground ex Osmond.

The Forest home game would be an ideal one for the club to get some temporary seats in place. I accept it's a quick turnaround but I would like to see the club pull out the stops to do what they can to make it happen.

Forest have made around 12 signings already and not too many, other than last season’s loanees, have currently moved on so they probably will be able to field a pretty decent second eleven. As I said in post last night I will be in Turkey so my two season tickets will not be taken up in the Upper.

In all fairness wouldn't mind Forest putting out a mixed side and us going and competing with them with more of a chance to progress. Seen weirder things happen in Football and all adds money to the coffers.

A bit late to this news as I listened to the draw whilst boarding a flight to East Midlands (oddly enough filled with Forest shirts). This is a great draw for us. It’s great that in our first month back as a FL club we’ve earned a tie against a PL club who just happen to be reasonably local. It’s a winnable tie as looking at their fixtures they have Everton (a likely relegation rival) before Tottenham and Man City in the 7 days following us so will more than likely field a second string team. Imagine the buzz if we could get the win. I am really looking forward to it.

How about one of these at the side of the pontoon.
They hold 150 each.
I'd almost go as far to say is get one next to the Osmond so if the opponent's have a massive following they can have an extra 150 seats OR if they have a small following we use the main part of the Osmond an have an extra 150 seats

As others have said, it will be nowt like Forests first team, all their concentration and efforts this season are about staying in the premiership, so if we take it seriously then a decent chance of a cup upset.

Just another thing to add to the buzz that is already surrounding the football club.

As fans, it's the least we deserve
As players, it's the least that this group (and last those who left in the summer) deserve
As owners, it's the least Stockwood & Petit deserve.

I, for one - absolutely can't wait.

Forest have got loads of new signings to bed in so I can't see them playing much of a weakened side but new signings still gelling could definitely aid us. Plenty of players coming in from the German, and French leagues, one from Italy and one from Costa Rica...hopefully with a packed Blundell Park we can give some of these new players who have their sights set on the big PL stadiums a rude awakening. They've signed some good players that were already playing here though in Lingard, Toffolo and O'Brien and add that to the talent they already have and we'll do exceptionally well to get through this but what you can bet your bottom dollar on is that we'll be well up for it. Kind of match you're looking at someone like Green to get smashing into them early doors.

Lincoln have put a couple of those type of stands in between the away end and the small side stand.

Wonder how much a couple of this units would cost to buy (or alternatively long term lease)? Would only add 300 to capacity and if all seats taken around £6K, so it would have to be cost effective, but if we have a decent season people like me, who  financially couldnt justify a season ticket but would like to attend when they can, an option for a ticket to games.

Nice, but what are you basing this on or is it a number plucked out of thin air?

You would expect Town to pocket 100k for this one game

9000 tickets at £22 a pop is £198k but you would imagine a decent number of those 9000 are concessions. Gate receipts are 45:45 after costs with the other 10% to the competition so I think £50-60k is a more realistic figure unless Forest give us their 45%.

Won’t be 9k, 8k tops - Stockport attendance from last season with next to zero ticket holder no shows.

Corporate revenue might be higher than normal. May put the prices up for McMenemys plus seat behind the directors box.

I agree. I think quite a few are over egging this one. I wouldn't expect them to bring anything like their strongest side and with everyone having to pay for this one I'd be surprised if the gate was over 6000.

Agreed, plus the fact it'll be a midweek night - makes it difficult for those not living in the area to get home after the game, will probably put a fair few off

Well it didn't seem to put fans off when we knocked out Newcastle in a mid-week night cup match. I know Newcastle were a big club but there is a different feeling surrounding the club now.

How about one of these at the side of the pontoon.
They hold 150 each.
I'd almost go as far to say is get one next to the Osmond so if the opponent's have a massive following they can have an extra 150 seats OR if they have a small following we use the main part of the Osmond an have an extra 150 seats

Very nice 150 seats x£22 total income £3300 I bet the cost will be £10000 for the hire totally out of the question designed for corporate events were money is no object

Third home game in a week as well so some fans will obviously prioritise given fuel costs, season tickets already paid for might be the deciding factor and the cup games don’t seem to have the glamour they did when we beat Spurs than played Newcastle but still expecting a good turn out.

Sorry - brain fart. When we knocked Tottenham out of the Carling Cup in 2005 and subsequently went out to Newcastle. 8,205 at BP for the Tottenham game and 9311 at BP for the Newcastle game.

I was doing the maths that I assumed led to the £100k assumption. I really hope we do achieve a total sell out because then we as fans have justification to lobby the club when the attendance is just shy of 8000.

If only it was that simple these things are used for events like the regatta Grand Prix horse shows concerts etc where the admission costs are considerably more than the£22 match ticket

I am sure it will be a capacity crowd (or whatever passes as capacity) despite season ticket holders having to pay for tickets. For those who cannot make the game their seats will be snapped up by non season ticket holders.

Forest will obviously take whatever allocation they get and will revel in the novelty of visiting a lower league ground and letting us know about it! Forest could put out two first teams so there will be some familiar names but regardless, it's league 2 versus the Premier League so it should be a great night!

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I spend a lot of time in Nottingham and have several friends who are Forest fans. Since last night I've had four requests for help to get tickets. The attitude over there is a massive feel good factor which mirrors our own. Add in the fact that we are on the coast and the game is in the middle of the holidays and I suspect they will sell whatever we give them.

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

Just have to keep plugging away against the negative mind set concerning our crowd potential on here from those who have been worn down by 20 years of mediocrity. Of course it will be a home sell out  out and Forest are in the same position as us with their owntwenty years of mediocrity having ended so they will sell out as well.

I suspect you’re being sarcastic but to be honest, is anyone arsed it’s not on telly? You don’t get that much and to be fair, to the tv people, our game doesn’t necessarily stand out.

You’d imagine so to a football fan but not to the TV people. I’d imagine Bolton is easier logically for them setting up TV stuff, the fallen giant on their way back, Villa being a big club, Steven Gerrard and all that…

Was probably easier for the TV people to pick that over our game.

Sky Sports have their heads up their bottom concerning anything happening at League Two level - they're not remotely interested in showing league or cup games involving teams from our league, and the clowns at the EFL struck a TV deal which permits Sky to broadcast innumerable championship games along with the odd League One fixture involving Sheffield Wednesday (or Sunderland last season) without any requirement to show similar numbers of League Two matches. Find it really weird how you have significantly better TV coverage in the National League now than in League Two, so it's hardly a surprise the TV company that has no interest in this league is picking awful matches like Bolton v Villa over us vs Forest, or Stockport v Leicester (would have had zero complaints had they put that one on TV ahead of us).

I mean they’ve picked Tranmere Rovers (v Newcastle) as one of their live games in the 2nd Round. And they had Bradford City as one of their 1st Round live games. And last season they had Barrow live in the 2nd Rpund and both Salford & Leyton Orient live in the 1st Round. And the season before that they showed Leyton Orient, Harrogate, Salford, Barrow & Walsall live. But yeah, Sky Sports hate League 2 and never pick any of the clubs for live EFL Cup games….

If SG Villa lose to FL Everton this weekend, in what Sky are probably already billing as the ‘Golden Generation Derby’, Stevie G might not still be in charge by the Bolton game.

I get that and I appreciate it shite for folk that can’t make it but had we drawn anyone other than a premier league team, the discussion of whether it’s be on TV wouldn’t have taken place.

I think the narrative that they ignore league 2/lower league is a bit of fallacy, as pointed out, plenty of games and teams chosen, and let’s face it, after all, if you’re a TV person you look at figures and which game is likely to bring them in…

Grimsby v Spurs was televised when we won and both teams were in the same respective divisions. Can't remember if that was the second or third round.

Second round, we had Newcastle, at home, on the TV in the next round.

I mean town fans complaining we’re never on telly is a bit rich, not 6 weeks or so ago we were on 3 times in a fortnight…

Have they even realised the next rounds been drawn, no mention of it on the OS, so no mention of ticket arrangements. For the Crewe match season ticket holders had until 7 days before to get there seats before they were released on general sale so on that basis we have until Tuesday to get our tickets 2 working days and there not on sale yet. Whats going on !

Whilst I’m not entirely sure the sheer panic was warranted, the fact remains, our website is still flipping bobbins. The draw was made for a significant game in the league cup against a premiership team and it’s not even on the website.

Worrying about tickets is pointless because that’s something and nothing but at least have it as a new item…

It is irritating. I’d quite like to plan to go to the game but can’t book trains and find cover at work etc until they announce it. Not the club’s fault but the League Cup organisers.

Not panicking about tickets but you would think there would be some mention of the fact that our reward for beating Crewe was a home tie against Premier League Nottingham Forest

Good to see the covered corner in the Osmond going to Town supporters rather than away support.

That's great news - really pleased the club are prioritising home fans in this way. It would be easy just to flog all the Osmond to Forest fans with probably a lower stewarding and policing cost.

From a STH point of view it doesn’t really matter what time you order them so long as it’s in the specified window.

I’m not entirely convinced putting town in the corner with a full allocation for forest…

Do you ever post anything on here which isn't spectacularly pedantic? You've just cherry picked fixtures there, it's very clear from the terms of the EFL's TV deal that Sky Sports have absolutely no interest in league two:

"Sky Sports has agreed the renewal of its contract with the EFL to broadcast 138 live league games per season until 2024... At least 20 EFL games broadcast per season will be chosen from Sky Bet League One and League Two matches."

138 games a season, yet only 20 of them involve either League One or League Two, and of those paltry 20 matches a season Sky Sports heavily prefer broadcasting League One over League Two. So if we're lucky and Sky pick evenly between League One and Two we get a maximum of 10 televised League Two matches a season - approximately one every four weeks. Compare that to BT who show a live National League match every week of the season.

So yes, you contrarian melt, Sky Sports demonstrably do hate League Two and avoid showing teams from the lower end of the football league wherever they possibly can.

Anyone else try and buy their Forest ticket this evening and find their seat greyed out? I waited until midnight thinking it might get released at the end of the ST holder-only period but nope. Didn't see any seats get released in fact. Will be a bit miffed if someone has been able to purchase it

Only usual non STH Main Stand seats available on my 1878 login - Unless every single STH has bought a Forest ticket ( apart from you) I'd say STH seat have not been released to 1878 members.

I bought my season ticket seat online before midnight last night. It was the only one in green surrounded by greyed out ones, so no problems for me.

Before I ring the ticket office when it opens, I'm wondering if anyone can offer insight into a question?

I'm not an 1878 member, but I am a Trust member. From how it reads on the OS ticket info for the game, Mariners Trust members can purchase tickets on a 1for1 basis from 0001 on Thursday 18th August. Do you need to have anything annotated on your account for VenueToolbox to 'mark' you as a Trust member or will it effectively be general sale without this function? Similarly, as I'm after tickets for wife and kids too, would they need a VenueToolbox account linked to mine with their Trust status enabling me to buy four tickets together?

Appreciate this is likely the first time we've had this kind of issue so may not be widely known but never hurts to ask around before going direct to source.

It's all sorted, just a bug with the system. I did buy a seat that was available and got it transferred to my ST seat when I called the ticket office

Slim pickings already unless you want to sit on your own or on the back few rows of the Main Stand.

No idea why they don’t just open the Osmond now and let people have the choice ffs. Paid £25 for an 1878 membership and the benefit is being given a poor choice of seats while hundreds of decent ones are sat gathering dust until Friday.

Meant to have been released midnight last night. Did think it strange that there were so few at 7am this morning, must be a bug in the system somewhere as I can’t imagine EVERY season ticket has been picked up.

We’re keeping the Osmond corner and only opening when the other stands sell out -

“The Osmond Stand Covered Corner will be opened up for sale to our supporters should the Main Stand, Pontoon, Upper and Lower sell out.

Like I said, bit of a písstake telling people who’ve paid up they that have to have a seat they don’t want so that decent seats can get picked up by others in general sale at the weekend. The Osmond seats fly out when they go on sale, why not just get on with it?

Yeah, it keeps coming back to this issue around the crappy seats that no-one wants.

I get why the club don't want to open up what it is effectively an overflow section until they've sold out everywhere else.  But they're absolutely stacking it against themselves when the crappy seats are the ones that are holding up the sell-out status in those areas.

Just open up the Osmond as general sale like everywhere else. Be bold and accept that we've got a fanbase that will test the capacity most weeks, but don't expect them to accept sub-standard seats unless there's nowhere else to go.

Completely standing in defence of the club over so many issues, including ticketing because no-one expected this level of growth in 12 months.  But getting maximum benefit from the limitations we've got in terms of capacity needs addressing immediately.

There needs to be a better methodology here. I understand not opening the Osmond when there are loads of decent seats elsewhere but it shouldn't be reliant on people buying terrible seats first. The ticket system shouldn't allow idiots to buy a single seat in the middle of 3 available either.

Yeah the methodology should be “sell the tickets you have and stop arsing about thinking you’ll have a few quid on stewards”.

If we filled two blocks for Carlisle on a Tuesday night in the píssing rain, it’s clear we’ll sell them for a premiership team in the biggest home cup tie for 16 years…

Last season I bought my season ticket in the middle of a 3. The reason was is that I have 2 friends who come from York. They make it to about three quarters of games but not all. I thought that people rarely buy single seats, so when they came they should be able to get the 2 seats either side of me. I don't think that makes me an idiot.

Same scenario already repeating itself for Saturday only back half of Osmond block A and poorer seats in Main Stand left with three days to go and block B not open . Presumably Sutton only bringing a handful. Just get all the available areas for sale when tickets go on sale

Your initial whinge was that Sky wouldn’t pick Town for a live EFL Cup match which is why I helped you with a run down of recent EFL Cup matches on Sky featuring League 2 clubs.

You understand how Sky Sports generate revenue? Subscriptions and advertisement.

We’ll ignore the fact that the EFL wouldn’t even get half of what they get from Sky without the EFL Cup and that the expansion of the UEFA Champions League poses a threat the existence of the EFL Cup and therefore the value of the EFL TV deal. A big club in a live EFL Cup games sees viewing figures multiple times greater than any league match since Leeds were promoted a few years ago.

What viewing figures do you think Harrogate v Crawley Town would generate compared to Sheffield Wednesday v Stoke City? Or Rochdale v Walsall compared to West Brom v Sunderland?

Sky are a business. Not a charity. They pay a substantial amount to the EFL and that gives them the absolute right to pick the games that give them the best viewing figures and the ability to maximise their advertising revenue. Sky aren’t a public service broadcaster.

So apart from the playoffs it’s a handful of L1 and L2 matches during international breaks.

If a Rangers like situation arose at a big PL club and Man Utd ended up in League 2 they would be on loads because of the viewing figures.

In an ideal world the EFL would have 2 TV deals. 1 for the Championship and EFL Cup and another for League 1, 2 and the EFL Trophy but that’s not going to happen until the 2nd tier break away from the EFL.

May have been said elsewhere but I'm assuming that a mandatory 10% of capacity has to be held back for the away side's fans until it is clear that, via a deadline, that number of seats will not be required. It is only then that Osmond block B seats can be offered to Town fans.

Other 3 blocks in Osmond more then meet the 10% requirement.

Some figures…

The Championship playoff final was Sky Sports highest ever EFL viewing figures. 1.75 million.

However the average regular season Championship game has viewing figures of around 180,000.

The EFL Cup Final On Sky Sports was watched by over 4 million viewers and earlier rounds featuring big PL clubs regularly get over 1 millions viewers. And much higher when 2 big PL clubs play each other.

Conclusion: the EFL TV deal is hugely reliant on the EFL Cup. Without it the value of EFL rights would be a fraction of their current value.

It's not so much of a problem when supply far exceeds the demand like it has done for all but a handful of games over the last 20 years but when that is flipped and supply doesn't meet the demand, purchases like that need preventing. It's the norm at other venues for events and I would like to see it implemented at BP ASAP.

Premier league away tickets are £30max…was an agreement between the clubs.

There’s been hell on at first for away tickets though…

They also sold their allocation straight out so hope we don’t end up with a load of Forest fans  in the home end. Well, not in the decent seats at least…

146 seats left, only in the Main Stand. Of which 77 are officially restricted view, and only 14 aren’t on the back 4 rows of the stand.

So if you want to see the ball above head height, you have a choice of 14 seats and you’ll have to sit on your own.

Or the club could just open the Osmond stand now and stop fúcking everyone about.

I've got a seat to take my 6 year old again.

Will be his 3rd 'proper' game, the couple pre-covid didn't go well as he was bored.

Solihull - We know how that went
Crewe - Happy days, except he now thinks we are the same level as Harry Kane (His words)

Now Forest.
I've tried to explain that they are 3 leagues above, and maybe not to expect another 4-0 win, but he's adamant we are as good as England

Anyway, we are right at the top of the Main Stand, Towards the Forest fans.
And he will bloody love the wooden views, the 'hopefully' loud away fans, and all round fantastic night for him to remember!

Good question, it says phone or shop doesn't it? (not useful when live in Yorks, and trying to coordinate buying with another Trust member)
May just wait until tomorrow and try and buy 2 tickets from general sale, as might there be some ST's released if not taken up? (or is that cloud cuckoo land?)

What could they possibly be waiting on at this point? They think we won't shift the two blocks of the Ozzy and the remaining seats in the Main? I can understand your frustration mate. Has anyone given the ticket office a bell to find out why?

Get the feeling they'll make them live when they go on general sale tomorrow. I have 1878 membership and trust but I'm holding off until they're released as I don't want to be in the main stand. So fingers crossed

Be a waste of breath I imagine mate. Bit the bullet and bought one in the Main Stand, but there now appears to be a “Move Seat” option online which I’ll probably end up using tomorrow when the Osmond gets opened.

I like the functionality of the ticketing website but think a 2-min youtube showing how to release ST seats, move seats or cancel orders could be really helpful.

There's probably a thousand walk ups between the Crewe and Carlisle games who can now buy a ticket too. Imagine a fair few of them will be holding out like you. Makes the priority order a bit of a laugh if people aren't really able to take advantage of it. If I were you mate i'd buy a ticket in the Main like Ska, and move it over when you get the opportunity.

Forest have bought their 16th player of the season. Gibbs-White from Wolves.  Either £35M plus or £25M depending on which club you believe. Initial fee expected to rise.  They could play all their newbies again us.

Plenty available dotted around Upper, Lower and Ponny now - looks like it's taken 2 days to release unsold STH seats.

The latest release about tickets says 'As previously stated, the Osmond corner stand will only be opened to home supporters once the rest of the stadium has been sold out'. Every seat is now sold (unless some more randomly become available) and the Osmond still isn't live. My sister has stayed up especially to get tickets in the Osmond as it stated they would become live at 00:01, obviously unsuccessfully. I know it seems like i'm whining but someone at the club is getting this so needlessly wrong

It’s boring isn’t it. I’m trying to get 4/5 in a row ideally. Why are we hanging on trying to sell a few individual restricted views before opening the osmond. There’s plenty of fans waiting to buy.

I'm in same boat. Stayed up til half midnight, then up again at 0530 and still not opened up. I have every faith that we'll sell out and that's only a good thing for the Club and the team to have that backing on the night, but it would be a little frustrating on a personal level if I can't get the 4 together I need. Hopefully everyone will get what they need but it's unknown to anyone how many people are sat waiting to get sorted. It seems others would share the same frustration, especially if they've adapted daily routine and stayed up late to purchase tickets based on information that hasn't turned out to be accurate.

It would make even more money for both clubs, think how many Forest fans would buy the game.

I think this is the sort of thing the Trust needs to bring up.
I’m hoping to go. But (like many others) hoping for a couple of seats next to each other.
Think it’s a bit tight if the club are waiting to sell a few sh1tty seats before opening up the Osmond.
Thought we’d moved on from that type of treatment !!

From the club and fan's point of view, 100%. But from Sky who own the rights, it would take viewers away from them. You'd think they could do a deal with the clubs/iFollow/whoever that they take a cut or sell the adverts so all matches can be shown. I'm amazed that hasn't happened yet, but it will surely be coming soon that all games will be televised in some form.

Once clubs can figure out, assuming they want to, the way to make similar money from their own, personalised TV service then I suspect we’ll see them fall like dominoes at the top level.

Whilst I agree, clubs should be able to stream their matches, especially games like this, why would Sky/BT let them?

I've not looked at the other stands but there's still about 70 tickets available in The Upper, admittedly mostly odd ones, so I don't think they'll open The Osmond to Town fans until these are gone.

The question is,.where have those 70 sprung from? The season ticket holder-only period finished on Tuesday night. Is the system really that slow to update?

So the situation as it is now is effectuvely a stand off. The club is waiting for the trickle of people willing to sit on their own (which is not the majority of people) to buy all the remaining dotted individual seats, whilst those who want to sit with at least one other person and just want to get their tickets sorted, are currently twiddling their thumbs waiting to hand their money over. The club are getting so much right but this is a bit of a customer service own goal

Absolutely flying out, best you can do now is singles, about 3 pairs or the back 2 rows. Best part of 200 tickets shifted in about half an hour. They’ll have to get Block B open after dinner.

Ended up booking a couple of obstructed view tickets together last night. Doing it is a nightmare as you have to individually go through and add them to basket rather than doing both at the same time, and by the time youve added one, the other is gone.

Maybe should have waited for Osmond

Ended up booking a couple of obstructed view tickets together last night. Doing it is a nightmare as you have to individually go through and add them to basket rather than doing both at the same time, and by the time youve added one, the other is gone.

Maybe should have waited for Osmond

Don't think you can can you? Online it says only one seat/space can be moved per order. Plus it doesn't actually say anywhere how to change seats, unless it can't be done online.

As a silly old gig I’ve just physically bought my tickets.
5 minutes and sorted exactly 👍
Fair play to those online of course it’s needed.  But the physical sales win it for me personally

This game should be available to Live Stream for £10.

It would make even more money for both clubs, think how many Forest fans would buy the game.

If you want to watch the game at BP then you get a ticket, simples. You might not get to sit next to your mate, so what, it's no big deal. It's only 90 mins FFS , the world won't end! 😉

There’s probably a few in the away stand if that’s the case

Edit: obviously not all to do with you but I’d say someone met up with a Karen or Tracy from Barnsley*^ on a club 18-30 to ayia napa

* other Tracy’s/Karen’s are available

^ not all Tracy’s/Karen’s are from Barnsley, it was either there or Croydon

And no, I’ve never been to ayia napa!!

Well I asked the Trust a few questions a couple of weeks ago including what the club is doing to increase capacity or what are the conditions for the club to seriously consider increasing it. I mentioned that it would be amazing if we could get some more seats in for the Forest game which was 12 days away at this point.

I've not had a reply. I appreciate additional seats for Tuesday would have been very ambitious and probably impossible but the apparent stonewall silence on anything related to additional capacity is frustrating, we all know it's a huge issue.

I appreciate the Trust are busy and my email was a long one so hopefully they get round to reading it and answering my questions at some point. I also asked what is being done to bring the womens team home from Market Rasen.

Out of interest, is there anyone who wanted a ticket not got one?

I know a handful of STH who are away on holiday this week and just left their ticket to go on general sale, which, looking at the site briefly would suggest they’ve been sold.

It’s frustrating that the trust haven’t replied to folk and I guess we’ve been so used to pointless, poorly written statements sneaking out after a set of excrement results or late on a Sunday that because there seems to have been radio silence on this.

Just had a Sunday evening curry in Scarborough sat next to a couple from Nottingham.
He's been going for decades and gutted he hasn't a ticket, it's obviously a bigger game for them than we thought.

I think this will be the first gate to exceed 8k since Scunthorpe at home in the FA Cup?
Growing up  Nottingham  Forest where for a while THE team which when you think they had to compete domestically vs Liverpool was some feat.Really looking forward to the game its a real occasion a day with home advantage Town have got a punchers chance. The team will need the crowd right up for this from the off and its a long time since we carried out a genuine giant killing  here's a chance to put that right.UTM

What’s the urgency for temporary seats? There were plenty of seats available for the last home game, even the Forest home tickets didn’t sell out straight away when they went on general sale, I bet there will be a fair number of Forest fans that snapped them up.

I remember the last time we filled the corners up with temporary seating and for most games they wasn’t even needed. The club are correct to wait for the demand to exceed supply, hopefully we can beat Forest have a good cup run and increase the demand.

It slows down significantly when you don't have tickets together, restricted views and the club holding off releasing Osmond tickets.

There should nearly always be excess capacity in my opinion so people can walk up on the day. Lots of free seats against Sutton are because some season ticket holders are on holiday and some season ticket holders have bought them despite knowing they can't make every game. I'm not criticising these folk and the reward scheme will go some way to easing this but single seats dotted around aren't really helpful for me and my kids are they?

Not everyone has the luxury of knowing their Saturday afternoon availability a week in advance.

You couldn't buy a ticket without an existing GTFC registration from before the date of the draw, so no, Forest fans will not have snapped them up.

Opening new accounts was only suspended on Friday when tickets went on general sale so any Forest fans keen enough could have registered before that then bought when went on general sale.

My neighbour is a forest fan and he's been talking about wanting to play us for years. He grew up with them playing us regularly and thinks of us as a sort of rival. Plus they're on a huge wave of optimism after just being promoted.

If it’s “restricted view” in the Main Stand you’ll be lucky to see the pitch! All seats are restricted view 😂

So 8,418 - what a surprise - within a smidgen of Northampton and Scunny games and other sell outs without extra seats. That is the capacity not 9k. We have 7200 home capacity now. No shows v Northampton = 500 and circa 700 v Sutton. No shows v Stockport last season were 200. That is what GTFC need work on now - encouraging release of seats people aren’t using.

Full ground…two sets of fans mixing before and after - and supporting their clubs the right way during. Like a proper cup tie. And hopefully sets a good example and sends a message to various police forces that football fans do not have to be shepherded into areas, kept apart etc.

Excellent environment at BP this evening.

The result was not meant to be but both fans mingled, shared some “football banter” and  genuinely enjoyed the evening.

Really lovely to see.

(… I assume The Times won’t be running a report on this evening’s game and behaviour?)

No shows shouldn't have been in that bracket tonight given season ticket holders had to pay tonight. I was unfortunately a no show as I snapped up a ticket Saturday night thinking I was available and then I wasn't but there can't have been many. How many of the 9031 seats does segregation in the Osmond take away?

613 empty seats tonight, I was one of them but every single seat was sold...

Dissappointing that you wasted a ticket . I think we all must now know and many have known for some time there aren’t 9031 usable seats . Segregation maybe took out 100

How many empty in the Upper? Was director and commercial areas full? Looks like about 100 behind the dugouts are empty, why don't we sell those?

The Trust got back to me yesterday morning with a decent response about capacity. They advised that there are about 80 seats that the club don't sell due to the view but will also be conducting an audit of restricted views. On Saturday against Sutton there were 200 seats available in the Osmond so we didn't sell out. I'm not sure where in the Osmond these empty seats were but I saw a picture on Facebook last night that a Forest fan posted from the top of the Osmond and he could only see half the pitch!

The Trust have told me that the club don't think temporary seating makes financial sense BUT they are looking into the possibility of a more permanent solution.

With my business head on, the board probably need to ride this season out, see how many season ticket holders renew next season and go from there.

My view on temporary seating is that it isn't about the money today but it's easy for me to say that when it's not my money!

Deducting the 1205 Forest fans last night, a home sell out is 7200 and not 7800. Factor in league games with a 10% season ticket absence and its 6700. If the give back scheme has a 20% take up, you can make that 6800 for league games.

It's good to know that when you ask the Trust a question they get back to you. It may take time but you got a reply. Once again the Trust in its new form has come good.

If they can’t be sold, or at least not worth it, it’s a prime advertising area surely? Similar to this ……

As a footnote, now that I know how to do it, I will routinely donate my seat in the Upper for games i cannot attend-and there will be quite a few probably. Moreover, I don't need to be compensated; it's the least i can do to help the club maximise its gate receipts.

R u saying the common factor in our last 3 high attendances, Northampton, scunny and last night, is Chris Doig?  😉😃
