In the latter years of the old regime we only ever seemed to sign players no one else wanted. With predictable results. This is not hindsight, I was forever banging on about it.

How times have changed.

We could do with another CB, MF and a striker but I’ve not known us be in such a good place for squad numbers 2 weeks before the start of the season. Well done to PH and the club.

Two great signings IMO - suddenly the squad looks very competitive and full of quality in every area of the pitch

Providing Green and Morris stay injury free I see them in the starting XI - surely they would have wanted some sort of first team guarantee especially as other clubs would have been after them, I suspect?

So, I wonder what formation PH is thinking of?

Going by your thinking above then the fact we have had to fight off leagueb1 interst for clifton puts him ahead of 1 of Khan or wearne.

As it is I don't think anyone will have a first 11 guarantee from Hurst personally. If you recall fox was in and out of the 11 at the start of last season after dropping down from league 1.

Good point and just shows what a problem PH has - but a nice one
Totally depends on formation IMO - I can't see Clifton being used out wide when we now have three specialists in that role and what about CM? I think he may lose out to Green and Morris who may be better all round footballers

Harry possibly paying price for being too versatile but not as good as specialist players?

Having said all of that Harry is perhaps fittest player at club and will be flying at start of season so will probably be in first team - see what happens as season develops
