New Icenian Prediction League

Although the last league I ran was not as well supported as previous ones, I will be running another Icenian Prediction League this season.

First games to predict will be on 6th August with the fixtures to predict being posted the week before. Anyone can enter and I am assuming all those who entered last time will be doing so again.

I will give a quick resume of the rules when I post the first fixtures to predict.

We shall see how well supported this league will be and if it's worth me doing another one later in the season.

The new league is now up and running and there is now a sticky thread with the first games to predict.

A quick resume of the rules. Anyone can enter but please be aware that the game lasts for a minimum of 16 weeks, so please only enter if you intend to see out the end of the game. I will give you 6 games to predict, this is usually 1 Premiership, 1 Championship, 1 League One, 2 League Two and 1 National League game, although this will change for International break and Cup weeks. You must predict what you think the final score will be. If you get your prediction spot on you will score 3 points and you will score 1 point if you get the outcome correct (ie home/away win or draw) but get the score incorrect. You can also "Nap" one selection each week. This is your most confident prediction, and any points you win on that game will be doubled. You also need to add up the total number of goals that you have predicted in the 6 games and include that too. If you get this total spot on then you will earn 2 bonus points and you get 1 bonus point for being 1 goal out in either direction.

Now here is the important bit, AS WELL AS POSTING YOUR PREDICTIONS EACH WEEK ON THIS THREAD, YOU MUST PM ME YOUR PREDICTIONS TOO, I'm sure nobody will but this just prevents the editing of predicting after the games have finished. This is just for your piece of mind that there can be no cheating.

The league stage will last for 12 week and the the top 8 or 16 (dependant of the number of entries) will go into a head-to-head knockout stage to find the ultimate winner of the game.

In the case that there are one or two games postponed for any reason, then the week will go ahead as normal and I will just deduct the goals you predicted in those games from your total. If 3 or more games are called off, then that week will be declared null and void.

I realise it's only Thursday and still plenty of time to go but so far I have only had around 10 entries for this, which isn't going to really make it worthwhile running this again.
