Real shame Croudson’s professional career was cut short by injury. Even at a young age he was a more than capable deputy for Danny Coyne.

His debut against Robbie Keane’s promotion chasing Wolves still sticks in my mind. Andy Love had played the previous few games, Aidan Davison having him AWOL, and few in the ground had even heard of Croudson before he appeared on the team sheet. They would remember it.

Those highlights don’t do his performance justice. We were in the final few games of the season and Wolves needed to win to sustain their promotion challenge. They peppered our goal with shots all night and Croudson was in inspired form. Such a shame that shoulder injuries curtailed his career.
