Does anyone know when the new shirts are going to be released? In previous seasons, the announcement has already been made at this stage.

In an ironic twist on the previous regime ....1878 were so focussed on getting the season tickets on sale they forgot to order the kit ....Will be in time for stocking fillers ....so just have to play in that lucky blue one for now 😉

For some unknown reason, our season finished a bit later than everyone else's.

Wouldn't want a shirt with an EFL logo, hastily sewn over a National League one.

Please, no!

Black & White with no collar or v-neck.

Second strip, ideally a Napoli-esque light blue.

3rd kit - something mad like a Dutch orange. Mind you, with MyEnergi being a sort of green logo, maybe green then? Never been a fan of green due to Ireland, but it might look cool…..

We are all red away. Always were, always should be. 3rd kit….? Don’t care at all.

Home shirt will be white with black pin stripes in a blast from the past.
Away shirt will be a mad "Dutch" orange to quote Heisenberg.
Third shirt will be green.

All as a mark of respect for Holohans schlong.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not an anti-Ireland thing at all, I’ve been there plenty of times and really got on with Irish colleagues etc., but the whole Celtic/Ireland thing isn’t my favourite, I’ve always found green to be a bit OTT and clashes with the pitch! But maybe it’s time….

1878 was Blue and White hoops.

Your right I must be thinking of a later kit before the black and white stripes. The Blue and White stripes may work as away kit though.

This will be controversial, but the new badge has grown on me.  It's given the old design a 'modern' sheen and looks better on promotional material.

As for the kit, I think our stripes looks better with white being the predominant colour, so a white shirt with black pin stripes would be a nice nod to the past and look smart with our new sponsor.

Am I alone in not getting excited about footy kits?

The home one will be black and white stripes and the away one will be blue or red.

After that, I don't really care.

If anyone’s interested, here are the three Macron options Scunny fans have to choose from to select their special edition 22/23 National League relegation strip.

Apparently whichever one they go with, their new kit will feature the latest cutting edge technology which infuses it with the rancid stench of failure.

I think you’ve lived there a bit too long to think it’s all one sided. Anyway, non football. This subject really is one that can never be sorted once and for all, and it’s a huge shame.

Back to the shirts - please, no pink….

Before I get shot down in flames here, I think almost everything 1878 have done has been absolute top notch. However, I do think it's a bit of a missed revenue opportunity to not have the kits out in time for fathers day. Of course, there was a lot going on in May and I'm sure there are legitimate reasons for it but had they been available I'd have definitely already bought my Dad one and I'm sure there are many others in the same position. Not a criticism as such, just a potential learning for next year. I guess they will still get my business in that I'll be buying my own as soon as they're available and I'll get my Dad one for Xmas instead.

I’d like to see us try something different- home shirt similar to Palace’s diagonal stripes from last season, and the away shirt a throwback to yesteryear with chocolate and blue halves.

To be fair, I think it’s a hark back to their ‘Alex Calvo-Garcia’ promotion season of ‘99. I wouldn’t be holding their breath if I were them.

It would be nice for the 2nd or 3rd kit to be of similar design to that of Grimsby Pelham in 1878-79 season, minus the plus fours

That last option in black and white gives me memories of Gary Jones in 06/07.

When you consider that virtually every team has a new kit or three every summer, orders have to be placed very early. The Macron kits aren't like the Nike kits which were essentially from the Sunday League collection and we printed the sponsors on ourselves, they are part of the fabric so a big part of the delay is because of our change of sponsorship.

I'm willing to cut 1878 some slack here. I agree with you but I'm confident dads will get new shirts for Fathers Day in 2023.

Some legitimate reasons and some misty eyed tales told on the back of a pub.
If I’d reacted or responded to some of the abuse in kind that I’ve heard or suffered from Irish people they’d be up in arms .
They seriously like to give it but often can’t take it
