Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the club run a competition for kids to design the 3rd kit?

When the Reminiscence Hub was in Freshney Place, there we quite a few designs on show in the windows.

I haven't seen any mentions of winners etc.

Does anyone know anything?

Not sure, although I'm quite intrigued by Macron's marketing for this season's kits.  They've announced Stoke's, showing off how each 'part' can be interchanged.  Would be cool if they could do this for us, although the inevitable fluorescent green third strip may put a stop to that.

Quite sensible that. Cost effective to some extent and looks smart. Wouldn’t mind it if ours looked like that, black and white obvs…

It's still 3 kits but it's 3 kits in colours that go which is quite hard for our black and white home kit. It's crucial that between the 3 kits there isn't a clash with someone elses home kit. Stevenage play in red and white stripes typically which means our home kit clashes. If our away kit was red and the third kit was white it would potentially clash so not get signed off. Blue, green, yellow etc wouldn't mix well with our home kit so unfortunately I don't think this good idea of Macrons can work well for us.

Palermo pink for me, they have black and white on their kit so it’s work.

Not that alleged link thing we had or that one that was nearer a weird purple, a proper Palermo pink…

As long as we don't have a kit that makes you look like a walking salmon fillet again I'm fine with whatever colour they decide.

One of my gripes is playing in away colours when there isn't a clash. We played in our third strip at Chesterfield because our blue away strip clashed with their blue strip. Total madness and a sinical ploy to make more money at fans expense. When you look at our brilliant away support they are nearly all in black and white, so it doesn't seem to work at Town.

Black and white are we.

I think to show how far we have come under this new board we should have our third kit in the form of the gay pride rainbow.

That kit would probably be worth a ton to football kit collectors in years to come so I'd buy 10.

I know the Rainbow kit was tongue in cheek and I am not at all WOKE? but I do think it would make a statement about the philosophy of 'Greater Together' and would certainly get noticed, and I am coming round to the thinking we should do it.

I’m still waiting for someone to give me a cogent explanation of what ‘woke’ actually is…..
Until then, I just see it as some indignant, client journalist bullsh1t designed to trigger anger in a certain section of the population who, in reality, are not in the least bit affected by whatever it is it’s supposed to be.

Like most things it's become a corporate buzzword for box ticking in the hope of winning political brownie points and gaining more money. The idea of being 'woke' started with the black community in America in being awake and aware of prejudices they face, they had a lot of good points but you know how it is once people smell money to be made.

The rainbow kit would work and no doubt attract attention from all areas.

He hasn’t got to be related to LGBTQ+ at all, simply a kkt, which would make it easier for those that struggle with 21st century life and thinking. Collectors would be all over it and it would never clash…

If all clubs adopted a standard yellow change strip, then there would be no need for nauseating third strips.

Norwich would wear green if they played at Mansfield, before some smartar$e replies.

New shirts every year can't be good for the environment either.

There must be a fair number of shirts left over each year which has cost the club money. What a waste.

Bit too utilitarian and American for me.

I think in the NFL all visiting teams wear white, whereas in the NBA it’s the other way round, with the exception of the LA Lakers, who wear yellow at home, except on Sundays, when they also wear white. If that sounds made up, Google it.
