Can't see 5k a week, unless they are absolute fools.

Have you looked into their recent history.......some real dodgy stuff going on, including the disappearance of the money for the stand that was never completed and now looks like its a half completed meccano project.

A quarter of a million a year does seem a little generous I must say. But if it had been £2.5k I think we would surely have matched it?

I am sorry he has gone. I think we would all have preferred him to stay. But then I had never heard of him until he signed for us. No doubt the next good midfielder Hurst brings in is probably someone else most of us  have never heard of. Unless it's Jon Nolan of course.

They all rattle out the same shite clichés whether they're signing for The Mariners or Manchester United.

"Massive club, great fans, club's going in the right direction..." Zzzz.

I for one would find it incredibly refreshing and life affirming if a player was honest enough to just say: "Yeah...my new club are no world beaters, and they weren't my first choice, but the money was too good to turn down as it's a short career."

*not that it'll ever happen

"Massive club, great fans, club's going in the right direction." Repeat ad infinitum.

That's why I loved McAtee's delicious slip of the tongue post match after the Play Off final. All Premier League players are media trained within an inch of their lives so never come close to saying anything with even a modicum of interest.

sodomist me, Harry Kane's post match interviews would put a glass eye to sleep.

It’s so much better without the media training. Same kid, six years ago. Just a younger version of the same bloke who enjoys playing football, rather than the robotic nonsense you get from the game’s ‘elite’.

Sorry, but why would you offer 5k a week when he is being offered circa 2k at another club which is a long way from his base.  2.5k would surely do the job, especially given his reduction in expenses. It isn't just the 5k they would pay him, but the demands of established and incoming players which would see the wage bill spiral. Can't see 5k a week, unless they are absolute fools.

You seem to be assuming that only town and Northampton were interested in Fox. Seeing as he featured in all three play-off games then his ability and influence would have been noted by many clubs. For all we know there could have been offers from other clubs and Northampton's was the highest.Like I said, it was only what I was told by a reliable source.

Good point. I imagine Notts and Wrexham might well have had an interest.

Buying, or signing, on the back of those three games would imply little due diligence. That said, there have been plenty of duff buys on the back of a decent World Cup/Euros......

Not Brolin. Brolin was class for Parma.

Leeds signed Brolin three years after Euro 92 when his ankle was knackered and he was as chubby as a big lock.
