Wunderbar, any Tenpole Tudor reference gets a tick from me.

This is 'Real fun'
Tell me more.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

when 1878 took over last year they talked at length about their principles & philosophy, and how they wanted the club to be run on high standards. Much was made of their enthusiasm for the community work and attaining B Corp status.
Think it would be safe to say that a number of people were dubious about their ideals and some were quite hostile. Others didn't really know either what it meant or why it was thought so important.

I get the distinct impression in the last few days that their ideas and philosophy are starting to make sense to people - the unity of the players and the backroom staff (look at how Scannell is going to be looked after); the way things have improved both on and off the  etc.

Great post. I totally agree with you. 👏👏👏

How many of us have seen L2 football this year? Chaos was pretty damning about his visit to an Oldham game and someone reported on a Scunny game I seem to recall. I'm assuming that game management and basic passing skills are of a higher order as you go up the pyramid and there is generally less room for younger players learning their trade.

Stockport recognised this difference and brought in seasoned players to bolster their campaign. Bit parts were given to promising loanees like Raikhy. They, and to a lesser extent, Solihull, played a superior passing game which was less reliant on long 'diags' and was aimed at creating space and chances for their forwards and midfield.

Chesterfield and Wrexham were over reliant on marquee forward signings which almost paid off. We can't afford that so Hurst has to find a system which relies less on chasing around and more on sustained possession. No wonder we recognise the excellence of some of Solihulls players with their control, movement and accurate passing.

The more quality we can bring in to the midfield the easier it will be for McAtee and A.N. Other.

So, sadly, willing players like Sousa may have to make way for less flamboyant but more functional, fit and reliable performers.
