mate thinks an awful lot of the first day sales were newbies. I think you must be able to view a seating plan, coz he said that he'd seen in his little section of the Lower that there were 30 seats available for new season tickets.By 4pm yesterday 12 of those 30 spare places had gone

A mate of mine has just bought one for the first time in years. To be fair, he lapsed not because of the state of the club but because he moved 150 miles away.

He hasn’t moved any closer, that’s just how inspirational this season and in particular the last couple of weeks have been.

I think a lot of these will be new ST holders scrambling for a decent seat. No rush just yet for those renewing.

I bought my first season ticket in 3 or 4 years last night, mainly because I have now moved back to the area as I have a new job.

So that's atleast one newbie

To be fair, I hope not. Sell as many as possible. Use the Osmond as the casual overspill, and limit the away following to 300 advance tickets only. That’s what I’d do, anyway.

Due to work and family commitments I won't be able to make more than 5/6 Saturday matches but could make all mid-week games. Torn about buying one because I'm worried I'll miss out and not get a ticket otherwise.

I always buy one, despite it being a 140 mile round trip. I don't make all games, maybe 60-75% of them. But in the lean years it was my way of supporting a club on its bottom.

I'm going to have to justify my ticket this year by making more games. It's only fair!

In that case then we could ask also about where our fans were back in 1998 prior to the two Wembley finals too, Was it 25000 and 21000 we took to those two matches.

It doesnt really matter where they are match to match, its the supporting that matters. Just because they dont turn up for every single game, just buying an occasional ticket or getting a shirt or other memorabilia all add to the coffers.

Lapsed for 2 years, though bought £300 worth of shares in the 'Covid' season. Had to give this last one a miss because of ill health but have just reclaimed my earlier seat in the upper Youngs which, amazingly, was still unreserved.
Hope someone dusts off the cobwebs before August. Then its back to the 310 mile round trip, though sadly not for every game.

We had a higher average attendance this season when finishing 6th and going on a virtually winless run for a third of the season than they had when they won the league and got to the FA cup quarter final. Well run club blah blah etc etc but the fans had virtually abandoned their club when they were shite, having some league games with less than 2000 home fans and only bringing less than 500 to BP on a bank holiday. They are the ultimate in plastic fans and always will be.

I don't think there is any limit to ST sales.

We’d potentially lose out on money over the season if we had 100% of seats taken with STs though wouldn’t we? You’d think they’d cap it at some point.

I was going to delay renewing until July but have persuaded my financial director that it is only fair to all concerned that current STH's renew asap or 'get off the pot'.

As a loner I don't mind being shifted a few seats here or there to accomodate families etc. so I will mention that as I commit my funds to the cause tomorrow.

I’ve decided to get one now and I doubt I’ll get to more than 3-4 games due to me living abroad , I’ll just let family members use it while I’m away but if I have to fly home for Man U in the cup I’ll be having the ticket 😂

I’ve just had a look on the website and the ticket prices are really cheap in my opinion , especially for juniors ect .
75 quid for a junior is great value when you consider my first junior season ticket 30 odd years ago was 45 quid.

Not certain but I think if your ground capacity is under a certain amount, you only have to give 10%.

That would be about 900 in our case. Don't know how that would work logistically with home fans in the Osmond and that amount of away fans.

We've done it with smaller away followings this past season.

Thinking about it I do always enjoy big away followings so perhaps the best option would be to install temporary (not green!) seats, preferably with a roof on if we are going to have to increase capacity to deal with the increased demand for tickets. ( I never ever thought I would have to write that!)

As an exile who can only get back for weekend games, I'm going to be gutted if we're sold out every match due to a massive percentage of capacity being taken up by season ticket holders.

I think you’ll still be alright as long as you’re on the ball. I think there are roughly 6,700 seats in the home end, discounting any extra we might be able to allocate in the Osmond, so even in the best / worst case scenario (depending on your perspective) that will still leave a good 1,500 tickets available for general sale.

This might be a good time for the club to think about some kind of loyalty system, however.

Loyalty system or a permanent buy back scheme with an option to privately transferring to third parties (transfer option possibly to 1878 members only with a fee to make up the difference? Obviously hypothetical at the minute but it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if we sold 4-5k and floaters/non-regulars/exiles would definitely miss out in that situation.

It’s 10percent or 500 if your ground is less than 5000 I believe
