The obsession with Fenty

Can we let it go now?

Jason, Andrew, the board, the staff, the players and the fans have proved that the club’s bigger than one man.

It’s our club again. We’re back where we belong, there’s no better time to let it go.

Can we ban the F word?

Why? Do we ban anything that reminds of our past or do we remember and learn from mistakes?

I started the thread about Fenty earlier.

I am certainly not obsessed with him but I want people to remember what a charlatan he was/is and how bloody awful it was supporting this club under him. And I want him to know that we won't forget.

You can't appreciate the good times unless you know what bad times feel like.

It’s done. It’s the past. We don’t need to gloat. We should just be thankful. Every time someone mentions it/him, starts a thread, goads him, gives him attention etc just invites negativity and division. Why do that?! Let’s go forward and not feed the ego or get stuck in the past. It/he doesn’t matter now. If he reacts, there’ll be loads of angry and unhelpful/uninteresting name calling, allegations, anger and negativity. Screw that. Had a bellyful of that before. Onwards…..

Oh we certainly need to gloat, we most definitely do. That parasite left the club in non league, again. Forced himself a deal which hindered the club he so dearly loves, apparently, a club on its knees.

The turn around in a year with instant return to the football league most definitely calls for gloating…

Hogwash. Gloating is a sign of insecurity. He will love the attention.

He means nothing now. Best and most dignified/productive/professional thing is to completely ignore/forget him and focus on the now. Completely irrelevant, and would be little more than ‘feeding a troll’ to gloat and provoke.

You do it if you want, but I/we are better than that.

Gloating is definitely not a sign of insecurity, it’s the sign of a club that’s been ruined, hamstrung and flipping shafted that somehow turned itself around within a year…

Exactly. If you’re booting off and still trying to provoke him or gloat…..ask yourself, why?

I couldn’t give a stuff about him now. Of course gloating and ad hominem outbursts calibrated to get a reaction is insecurity/bitterness. Christ, it went on long enough.
We’ve moved on.

You wouldn’t go round your ex wife’s house and shout insults at her bedroom window from the garden if you were happily settled with your new partner.

Screw the past. We’ve had new owners for a year and we’ve moved on to much better things. This is self evident. His utter failure is absolutely manifest.  It doesn’t need an angry transcript from folks stuck in the past and sinking down to his level.

Rise above crack on.

We do need to remember the past.  The bad times and 2 relegations to NL.  Then aim for a better future,  change and progress is happening very quickly for us.  Even if we are not fully-prepared for it, or expecting it so quickly.

As young people sometimes say”who are the Beatles?”.  People will soon say “Who is John Fenty?”.

If my ex had been using me, living rent-free for political gains for 20 years and was still bleeding me dry, I think I’d be a bit miffed.

Particularly if they had been abusive during that relationship and leaving my new partners scrabbling around in a food bank for cut price noodles.
