Good piece on the play off final here, and they don't hold back on the National League:

It's just as well for the NL that the fans are so concentrated on the game, as there's so much to unpack from this shambles they created, not least the mysterious 'booking fees' to quote the article.
Something to be looked into at a later date, perhaps.

Pretty much tells it as it is, “reverse Midasing” is a brilliant description of the NL ineptitude.

20,000 booking fees @ £3.99 = £79,800
20,000 delivery fees @ .99p = £19,800

Total  £99,600

So who gets this? Ticketmaster ? The National League ?

Ticketmaster. I get a lot of gig tickets through them and it's just the same. Robbing bar stewards.

Then they resell their own tickets on another website they own for incredibly inflated prices once it's sold out!

It's likely the National league and/or the venue will take a % of the booking fees as well. It doesn't all go to Ticketmaster.

I like the way the national league keep stating in their "defence" all proceeds will be distributed to members.....
I presume by proceeds they mean "profit"  , will be interesting to see what the actual accounts for this event look like once it's all done.

I don't know what the typical adult/concession split is but if West Ham pay £130k per game to play there it shouldn't cost more than that tomorrow.

Income:
£640k+ in tickets (20k x £32 average ticket)
£100k Booking Fees and email fees from above

Expenses:
£100k Ticketmaster Cut
£130k Stadium Hire (surely this includes stewarding)
£148k VAT
Club travel expenses are probably also claimed back.

Profit:

£362k which, if split between the members is less than £16k per NL club or even less if it's diluted further. I was always under the impression that final money was heavily distributed to the finalists but I'm sure we will find out next time the board invite questions.

Anyway, this time tomorrow I'm hoping we've pulled away from this farce of a league for good. UTM!

I’d love to know what % goes to the finalists and how that compares to the prize money awarded to the league winners.

Like I say a (almost) professional league run by rank amateurs. Maybe this league should become Division 4 of the EFL, but there in sits another debate for another day.
