Approx 13000

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

Considering the cost of living crisis in a low pay area , the  travel distance involved and the outrageous ticket prices, it just again proves what fantastic support GTFC has, i just pray that by Sunday evening we are a FL club again.

Just think how many we could have potentially added to that figure if prices were anywhere close to being reasonable! Over 15k I’d say!

What did we take in 2016, around the same I think… attendance was just over 18 bud I’m sure FG only brought 3 or 4 thousand?!

If it had been in the midlands - eg, Pride Park, Derby, and driveable in a few hours, and tickets fairly priced to take account of the COL conditions - say £30, then we would be taking 15-20K, Solihull maybe 8K, and, with a few thousand neutrals the stadium would be nearly full.

I know a few who aren't going for all the reasons stated who would be there ordinarily.

Some are saying they can't justify the expense; some are saying it's just a ball-ache in the wrong place at the wrong time and that they would get into debt to go if it wasn't where and when it is.

Certainly knocked at least a couple of thousand off the attendance, maybe more.

Capacity of 60 k with 20k in it .  The atmosphere wouldn't  be as good as say Bramhall  Lane or Villa Park.  The only reason to have the final in London is to grace the Wembley Turf.

There are so many better options that it makes the actual choice an even more stupid decision.

I’d love to know if the NL new that the seats behind the goals where going to be removed when they booked this.

One thing that springs to mind is the Board of this league Is made up of exec’s from NL clubs (one from SHM) what say did they have in this? If they sanctioned it then they should be held to account.

Other than a coupe of sides this is a full time professional league run by rank amateurs.

Apologies if I've missed the answer but have the seats behind the goal been physically removed, and if so why, or have they just decided not to sell them?

Yes they have been physically moved. That is for sure. The reason that is the case though I’m not so sure. I think (but don’t quote me!) it is because of a concert being held at the ground sometime in the future.

recent photos of town on the pitch show the seats in situ but they look to be covered.

I got the train £54 return from Grantham. I had planned Newark but it’s cheaper to drive to Grantham and hop on there
