Where are people heading pre game?  I avoid stratford in general  so have no point of reference regards pubs around there.

As per other thread i will not spend money inside stadium.... but pre gane drinks are a must

Most West Ham fans go drinking in Hackney Wick pre-match. There are a bunch of bars by the canal, the best known one is Bar 90, but there are a few in a row along the other side of the canal from the ground.

I’ve never been in Bar 90 but the Beer Merchant’s Tap a few doors down is absolutely fantastic with a decent outdoor area to boot.

Hackney Wick is definitely the place to be.

The Howling Hops tank room is great. I'm not a fan of hoppy beer but they have some good stuff. Would be impressive to drink a brewery dry!

I imagine most of the grown ups will be taking advantage of the selection of pubs in Hackney Wick but that might be a bit too posh for some being full of bars offering craft beers by a nice canal. Some will feel more at home in Stratford finding the nearest Wetherspoons since you can go to London and still feel like you're in Grimsby, complete with druggies hassling you for money at the station and slummy terraced streets.

I avoid Stratford like the plague if I can.

You could copy and paste the above onto the tourist information board at Stratford.

Do not come to Wetherspoons in Stratford, just ridiculous. Queueing to get in and big wait for anything

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.
