I’m going from Newark but I live in Lincoln.

£115 for two of us including unlimited tube travel on the day (and the booking fee etc)

When looking from Lincoln it became much more expensive and had less options.

Looking at national strikes they don’t seem to be affecting g mainline trains and the Tube is reporting a full, yet busy, service. The TfL and National Rail websites list any works/ planned disruptions.

Oh and the Trainline App/ website is what I find easiest to look at. Make sure you scroll down though to see all the options.

The rail union have to give 14 days notice for any strike…..and they have not done this yet.
Sunday should be ok …. 24 hour tube strike planned from Monday though!
Sunday services can run slow with engineering work…..

It's an easy 30mins drive for me to to Doncaster and where I always park up It's a brisk 10 minute walk to the station.
I usually give myself an hour.
The world's your lobster ticket wise then as it's straight on the mainline with trains every few minutes heading North and South.
This time it's cost just over thirty notes, booked just before the Wrexham game just in case.
A mixture of split save, non refundable advance tickets.
Gets me into Kings Cross 10.30am and leaves around 10pm.
You're tied to a certain train and the difference in price between ones running a bit earlier or later can be staggering.
This time it worked perfectly.
Might be worth adding that anyone with a railcard can link it to their Oyster card by simply approaching any member of staff.
It only works with actual Oyster cards though, not contactless payments.

Justa warning for anyone wanting to travel from Gy or Clee, TransPennine Express workers are working to rule at the minute and trains can be cancelled at very sort notice.

Just like this bloke found out recently.

I've just taken a look for you, it's pretty dire going from Grimsby on the Sunday as it doesn't service Lincoln until early afternoon. There are trains to Doncaster starting at 10:33 with an arrival of 11:39 then you'd be straight down to King's Cross 11:57 to 13:40 so cutting it fine.

It may not be viable for you but if you can get a lift or drive to one of Doncaster or Newark then you'll be able to get down within good time. Unfortunately it's not ideal for those wanting go by Train

I'm on the north bank so going with Hull Trains from Selby ( I would have gone from Howden but with the M62 bridge fiasco that was ruled out straight away )

There might still be places on that if you can get over the bridge to get on at Brough maybe?

St Pancras to Stratford International costs about £5 each way - can pay at the gate with credit card so no need to buy ticket - but make sure you use same card when you exit or you will be charged for the full trains journey. Premier Inn and Westfield Shopping Centre right outside station. Takes about 8 mins each way and trains very frequent.
