I have a lot more respect for their fans than I have for say morecombe, Stevenage, forest green, Salford et al They may have had a new owner that’s a major player in the media spotlight, but am sure that every club from league 2 down and their fans, would have a serious ego boost from that. In fact, I look at league 2 now and think that the conference is maybe even as good as it given the teams that have made the drop. All said over the 120 minutes Grimsby were the better team. No running on the pitch, no aggression, no trouble. Nothing but respect for their fans and you can’t blame them for thinking this was going to be their season.

It’s not their fault their club has turned into a media circus and become the team that everyone wants to see fail. Good luck to them next season (unless we’re in the same league). Much rather see them in the FL than Stevenage.
