At least they have announced it before the games are fully settled so no one should have any plans disrupted

Brilliant.

Been changed to my wedding day.

Future wife available for anyone interested.

I married my first wife on the day we beat Sheffield Utd 4-0  to win the old  3rd Division championship in front of 18000 at Blundell Park.

Wedding then match then reception. Can’t remember much about the wedding but remember the Kevin Drinkell hat trick.

Marriage didn’t last long

The date change is due to a vote by the play off managers, not the league's fault, for once....

Any other league would have had the managers vote on dates months ago

Why did the league even offer this up to the managers in the first place?

Play-off dates should be sorted and set in stone at the beginning of the season, the venue too!  They haven't got a bloody clue have they!

Genuine question... Why don't they just play them on the weekends?
Bizarre.

The original dates were set to avoid a clash with the FA Trophy Final on Sunday 22nd May which is Wrexham v Bromley. Wrexham only secured a top 3 finish on Sunday when they beat Stockport, so until then there was a possibility that the 4th v 7th match would have involved Wrexham which would have meant the Monday & Tuesday would have been impossible for that match.

BT Sport aren't allowed to broadcast a non-UEFA live match that clashes with a UEFA club game. It's part of the terms and conditions that all UEFA's broadcast partners have to agree to. So neither of the Play-off Eliminators could have taken place on the Wednesday at 19:45. The fact that it's Roma v Feyenoord in the UEFA Conference League Final and of little interest to UK viewers is irrelevant.

If Wrexham had dropped to 4th their game would probably have been on the Thursday and the 5th v 6th game would probably have been on the Tuesday. However with Wrexham not involved there was no clashes with the FA Trophy Final.

As mentioned above, Sunday 22nd May is Non-League Finals day. Both the FA Vase & FA Trophy Final are on BT Sport. So that day was never an option.

Could both Eliminators have been broadcast back-to-back on Saturday 21st May? Maybe, but BT Sport have chosen Monday & Tuesday night instead.
