Liverpool had better watch out, if they get officials that decided tonight’s game (and I am in no way a Manchester City fan).

Some unusual decisions from the referee tonight. Madrid should have had multiple bookings, the fourth official gave 3 minutes, which weren’t even played, despite there being an obvious 5 or more minutes of stoppages.

That said, you still need to play the match regardless of decisions.

The decision to bring on fernandinho and have mahrez and KDB off cost city

That said who could have seen Real getting back into it? Not me

City have controlled about 170 mins of the 2 legs and lost.

Ref was weak, very very weak but not taking their chances has cost City their place in the final

City stacked it themselves with or without a weak ref or another ten minutes.

Hope Liverpool stuff Madrid in the final and I only support Town and England.

Real were absolute dog for 90 mins, did absolutely nothing. Grealish needs to be finishing the tie off there though.

If city are gonna blame the ref then they’re clutching at straws. He was no worse or better than you normally get.

flipping woeful tackle in extra time handed Benzema a chance to put them in the lead.

Pep once again over thought it and his substitutions weren’t that great, Carlo, on the other hand got his changes bang on and once Real scored city fell apart…they became disjointed and disorganised. They did the same in the final last year, in the semi final against Liverpool, it’s a problem they’ve got. They’re desperate to sit at Europe’s top table. The champions league is becoming their obsession much like at Juve.

Carlo proving he’s the best manager ever for me, that said, I expect Liverpool to beat them in the final.

They didn’t buy the right man in the summer, not for this season anyway. Perhaps long term but they needed a front man.

Surely this could have been put on the "Citeg Stream?" thread.

Two threads now on the same subject.

How long until Man City think about rolling the dice and getting someone else in charge? They are desperate to win the Champions League and Pep has struggled to do it.

Didn’t realise what Citeg meant - sorry? !!
Anyway - the ref failed to send a Real player off for 3 yellow card offences in the first half - there - got it off my chest

Really want Madrid to win the final with a late Bale goal.

Fair enough mate and I totally agree with this, Casemiro should have been sent off.

Well now City know what Barnet felt like on Saturday. 2 goals up and threw it away at the end.

Ollie Palmer denied v Brizzell Rovers - courtesy of Ross Joyce failure to send their goalkeeper off for saving outside of the penalty area with his hand.

And not just because of all the titles - he made Dominic Calvert-Lewin look good.

Ref was appalling but you cant point to that as an excuse.

Poor finishing (not for the first time) let Madrid off the hook. Yes I am a City fan (for as long as Ive followed the Mariners)
but I think most neutrals would say for 180 minutes of both legs City were the better team. But you have to take your chances. City should have been well ahead. Didnt kill Madrid off and got undone at the end.

Doesnt matter about possession or shots its about putting the ball in the back of the net.

Thats what for me separates City and Liverpool this season . The best 2 teams in the world at the moment. City lack a finisher. False 9's are all well and good and it has proved hard to defend against. But in the really top games where you might only get a couple of chances it shows up. Liverpool have 4 or 5 goalscorers. Dont always have to play great but they are more clinical and they win.

Credit to Madrid for their never say die attitude but I dont expect Liverpool to be so wasteful and fully expect the scousers to win the trophy.

Indeed right now I think they will win the quadruple. Will be interesting to see how City react on Sunday. The game and the way they lost will be hard to shake off.

I just wonder if EUFA are more then happy with last nights result, I somehow don’t think they would have been too pleased to have 2 English clubs in the final for the second season running, not that there was any bias from officials or VAR.

But there wasn’t?

I’m all for acknowledging UEFA are bent but the only people city can blame for the result is themselves.

Regarding the misses by Grealish, one was actually cleared off the line (and almost deflected in off a Man City player from that clearance, and the other was well-saved by the keeper. Not exactly terrible misses. In fact, Foden missed a good chance from a quick free-kick which caught the Real defence flat. Lots of the goal to aim at from ten yards and put it over the bar.
