I got the impression from some of the commentators that the mighty Liverpool only had to turn up against little old Villarreal to go through to the Champions League final.

Half time....Villarreal 2-0 Liverpool (2-2 on aggregate)

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Completely agree PP, they were saying how you could get the stadium into Anfield twice over, only a town of 50k people, punching above there weight etc. They’ve certainly changed their tune now.

Credit to Villareal, they really took the game to Liverpool in that first half. They were never going to be able to maintain that intensity for the full 90 minutes. Liverpool just needed to make sure they stayed in the game. Chances were bound to present themselves in the second half

Liverpool should have won 6-2 tonight.  All 4 halves of the tie were very one-sided.

Reported that the first team in the CL to win 6 away games in the same season.

This is always the case with BT for all English clubs. Any foreigners watching must think they’re watching state propaganda.

Much like watching foreign sports channels when abroad…I’ve watched plenty of Italian football on Italian tv over the years and they’re extremely bias. Hardly a surprise really, interestingly though, pundits tend to know more about other teams whereas in this country few have more than a very surface level knowledge of anything outside of the top flight…
