It looked a harsh decision to me and I was sat very close to it but like everyone else I screamed red 🟥 … after he’d gone most around me said basically we’ve mugged the ref there 😂 bout time we had some luck

Need to see it again to be sure but I though efete got there first.

Many if not all Stockport fans were convinced it wasn't a red, but how could they know given the distance away they were... Then again, they wanted Amos sent off too for what was clearly a yellow.

No idea when highlights will be given its the Easter weekend. Tonight maybe?

Have seen a red card for less but did slide in feet first and was unlikely to get there first. Amos tackle was a yellow but the guy writhing on the ground was trying to get Amos sent off and seemed to be very quick to recover.

On a semi-seperate note…. It was very please, and clear to see that Amos has taken on board what PH has said about him being too nice and needing a bit more aggression.

Red was right in front of us. Wasn't a red at all imo, possibly not even a yellow. If it was on the other foot I'd have felt very aggrieved. And the ref hesitated and waited for reaction: it wasn't a sending off with conviction.

Obviously, I stood up and screamed blue murder loud as everyone else and demanded the player walked for a heinous challenge that could of ended a career. Then sat back down and said to my brothers that we as a crowd won that, it was never a red. UTfuckimM

If you watch it again once the highlights are uploaded, you’ll see that he checks on Efete before immediately pulling out the red card. It’s as if he was looking for evidence that the tackle had caused injury before making a final call, so perhaps some credit is deserved for his acting skills.

From where I was sat, around 20 yards away, the tackle did look high and slightly late, however the appeals for a sending off were by no means the most intense I’ve heard and I was still a little surprised to see the flash of red emerge from the ref’s pocket.

We've had no end of dubious reds against us, as have every team. It happens, move on.

This time it went in our favour.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more ridiculous red card in football than Scott Neilson’s at Gateshead in the playoffs.

Looked deserving of a red but I've seen yellows given for those lots of times, they'll feel hard done by because the ref could have just booked him but it's down to the ref's own choice, as we have learned many times before.

Ref was in a great position to see it and from the highlights got it spot on.

Having watched the highlights it's clearly the correct decision. Efete gets the ball first, Sarcevic misses it and puts his studs through Efete's ankle. Serious foul play which endangered an opponent, so it has to be a red card, and anyone suggesting otherwise doesn't understand the laws of the game. If you lunge in like that you're always risking a straight red if you make contact with the player instead of the ball.

I thought harsh from the Lower on the day, but slowing the highlights, studs up to ankle is clear - yes definite red.

It was right in front of me and I agree with Hurst’s opinion in that they both went for the ball and Efete got there first and was caught. Harsh but if you catch someone with your studs high then you give the ref a chance to send you. Luke Waterfall was quickly into the ref indicating he’d stamped at him which is shíthousery but only what we have been on the end of. We needed anything to go in our favour at that point as we were nowhere near being in the game.

Didn't even see the challenge, heard the crowd reaction so then got up with everyone else in disgust at it

Amos' challenge looked fair from the Main Stand. He got the ball with a firm, strong but fair challenge, throw-in and nothing more.

Which one of their players repeated when Amos committed his foul.

A good ref will ignore all the noise and give a decision on what he sees.

I’ve no issue with it at all. I thought their reaction to Amos’ foul was probably heightened as it was almost immediately after the restart from their red. Amos’ was never a red in a million years as it was just a little late and tripped him.

You’re right that a good ref won’t be swayed by that but we often seem to swerve the good refs so those antics worth it. He was good yesterday though.
