Wonder where the likes of Iron Smiler and other Scunt trolls are tonight? They were so keen to come and take the pisss when we went down (both times). Now you know how it feels, not much fun is it? Get used to it lads, it’ll be a long long time before you get back…

It's still sad to see them get relegated though.

When I got in the car I put RH on and Matt Dean asked “how do you feel about Scunthorpe United’s relegation”? I tuned to me dad and said one word “delighted”!

They’ll be there 9-10 years if they’re lucky. If they’re unlucky it’ll be liquidation and Phoenix club time. Which is ironic when they’ve an owner who looks like Den Perry.

Looks like fecking Stevenage are going to cling on to EFL status yet again.

I'd rather they came down than Oldham.

Think Oldham have all sorts of financial problems, so if we don't go up  we'd be better of with them down here. Plus it would be a much better day out than Stevenage

I feel no pleasure in seeing Scunthorpe in the predicament they are in.

Although having said that I am smiling a lot today.
And I do keep checking the league 2 table a lot and I do seem to inadvertently laugh when I see the bottom placed club.
and I did also enjoy going through their board last night reading the fall out.

But no, no pleasure at all.

I know what you mean and we all hate them, but there are already loads of tinpot southern clubs in this league. If we are still in this league next season we'll have a great away day at Oldham and they will bring a thousand fans to BP, if it's Stevenage then...well you know the rest...

A good day to be a town fan living in Scunthorpe I must say. Weird thing is, despite growing up here, working here, studying here etc. I genuinely only know about 9 Scunny fans. They aren't well supported at all. But those 9 are getting it, no doubt about it.

My point being that all the sh!te I got for the last 20 years was from people 'on the bandwagon'. Now Scunny are well and truly rolling in sh!te themselves, everyone round here has gone back to supporting Leeds, Liverpool and Manure.

You don't get that abandonment with Town. Ok, a lot of people stayed away because of Fenty, but we never left the club high and dry, we never hid our shirts, our attitudes or our affiliations with GTFC. We are Town through thick and thin, and I'm proud of that.

Not sure who these "buyers" are they keep telling us about as before they kept saying that no-one was willing to buy the club and that was when they still owned the stadium. Now they have nothing no ground, no assets, debt piling up weekly and not able to pay their bills soon. Also they have a non-chairman who owns everything and is holding an £11m debt so how much will he sell it all for? To even walk away without loss will cost someone at least that amount and more if you take into account the land value which is looked at as prime residential development land and worth more than the £11m on its own. It could be the actual end for the club in Scunthorpe but they are advertising for season tickets and executive boxes for next season !!!

Their new owner is a property development company. One of the directors is Swann. If I was a scunny fan, apart from being utterly disgusted with myself, I’d be sh1tting br1cks.

I’d guess there’s some very clever accounting going on, Swann sells to a property company that he’s a director of, seems very fishy.

I think Coolsilk have owned most of the club since 2016. Although the filing was last week, it reads to me that Coolsilk have owned it since 2016.

Swann owns the club , Coolsilk (which is also owned by the Swann family) owns the ground and all of the other assets.

This is a better link and is what Kieran Maguire alluded to the other day.

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/00123622/persons-with-significant-control

Scunthorpe United is controlled by Coolsilk Property & Investment Ltd which is controlled by Coolsilk Ltd which is controlled by the Swann family (Karin seems to have the most shares).

Short answer is Peter, Karin and their/his son own it ultimately.

Can't say I'm bothered who owns them.

I just want to see us going in the right direction while they have their time in the dungeon. Time we had a bit of role reversal, then set our sights on Lincoln.

It takes a very wholesome man to say they take no pleasure in seeing Scunny drop through the basement door with such a pathetic whimper.

That man is not I.

Despite my attempts at not raising a smirk, I've laughed like a flipping drain at their demise. That's football. They gave it, now they have to take it. Football goes in cycles and they'll rise again and I dare say with ample opportunity to goad us again.

Objectively I'd perhaps rather them be in League Two next season with us, watching as we achieve promotion. But I'll take opening up a giant gap between the two clubs.

I can't, however, feel anything but sympathy and concern for them as a football club. Relegation is one thing, they genuinely look like their actual existence is in danger. No club deserves to be lost forever.

But for the grace of God and all that...

Scunthorpe’s relegation from the EFL means that there are now only two clubs in the top 4 divisions with swear words in their name:

Arsenal, and F*cking Leeds 🙂

Some ominous tweets by “flat caps n Bovril” today. Who I’ve always thought seems a credible and decent lower league football fan (even if he does support Scunny!)

Seems to be genuine, genuine concern about their imminent future.

Wish them all the best in that respect
