JMD is fantastic isn’t he. Not the fastest but can go by his man dropping his shoulder and weaving inside really effectively. He crosses well, can shoot from range and spot a pass. 4 goals and one assist since his first game in December and that includes missing 9 games after the injury against Bromley.
First midfielder on the team sheet for me!
That through ball in the first half to Holohan (?) was absolutely superb.

For all of the (reasonable) criticism you can level at Hurst, there are a lot of qualities we can appreciate and enjoy.
Even going back to the days of Manny Panther and Nathan Pond, they were important signings at a time when we really struggled to build a good team. We've always known he favours good people over flawed geniuses, but give me a squad of 20 honest, hard-working individuals over a collection of individual flair any day.
Just parking the play-off issue aside, if you asked any Town fan whether we're a better club now than we were in May then of course it's a resounding yes.
So much more being done in the community; little ground improvements; fan zone; fan engagement; training facilities upgraded; players feeling welcomed and looked after, etc.
Sure, we've lost some bad games (Tuesday front of mind) and that feels a big issue in the moment but, on the whole, we look like we've got some decent foundations. We'd all love us to be up there competing for the title, but from what I've seen of the NL this season it actually looks better than L2 did last season! Would've demanded an incredible turnaround to undo the mess we were in.
If promotion doesn't happen this season then we'll be in the mix next season for sure.

McAtee should have scored there, did all the hard work winning the ball back outside the box and had a shot cleared off the line when it looked easier to score. Didn't look handball from that angle and the lack of town players appealing it probably shows it wasn't. Could have got another earlier but was slow to react to a rebound that flashed across an open goal. Had a decent game though and seemed to be involved in a lot of attacks. JMD's passing is fantastic, he can really pick out a run well.

I wasn't sure at the time if that was handball and I'm still none the wiser but it was a fantastic bit of closing down by Johnny Mac.

Yep, great work by McAtee to win the ball like that and create the chance from nowhere.
Looked like it came off the defenders thigh.

Handball is clear as day when you watch the Matchday moments on Youtube. The cameraman gets a great view. Like everyone else, including the ref, at the time I wasn't sure but that's football but it should have been a penalty and a sending off.

Yep, blatantly and intentionally scooped off the line. At least on this occasion it didn’t cost us points, though it did potentially cost us inflicting a heavy defeat upon a play-off rival. The closer view and angle provided gives us a better look and it's clear the hand was used to block the shot. Nothing lost from it but I think the second time we've been denied a goal from a handball and no penalty or sending off. If the players and ref didn't see it then surely the linesman would have seen it from his viewing angle but we know how worthless they are these days. VAR would have give us a penalty for sure.

As often happens an incompetent linesman with no balls is really to blame. He will have had a good view as he was on that side and I am pretty sure the ref communicates with him but he does nothing about it.
