No words…apart from the BBC….!!!
Ahkeem Rose scored eight minutes into added-time to earn Weymouth a 1-1 draw and prevent Chesterfield going top in Paul Cook's first game back in charge.
But 12 minutes of added time were announced after Chesterfield's Kabongo Tshimanga was carried off on a stretcher with a serious-looking knee injury.
And Rose struck as the game approached a century of minutes to earn struggling Weymouth just a third point in their last 13 league matches.

By the looks of reports, that's his season over. It'll be interesting to see who steps up to the plate for them while he is out.

They'll end u0p signing someone else ££
I'm not sure if he will play again if the injury i read was that his leg looked like he was a flamingo (it said knee injury not broken leg)

Yes I have since read about a possible knee injury too. Sadly they can take a lot longer to heal than a broken bone.

Weird one isn’t it? As a human you don’t wanna see someone get seriously injured, as a football fan, it’s flipping brilliant…be interesting to see how they adapt without him.

Are they insured?
Probably another crowdfunder incoming. Bad news for the lad who looked destined to move on to things much better than Chesterfield, but not much sympathy for any of their fans. The match thread on their board is quite revealing (and very funny), some of the comments about Weymouth are absolutely outrageous. I know we’ll probably be down here for the next few years, but the way Chesterfield fans have been going on for the last few months I’ll píss my sides if they miss out this year. Hope he’s ok but never scores again in a way that is detrimental to us, in an ideal world.

Chesterfield are a bizarre bunch, the frost cover crowd funding, the furlough scam and the celebration for losing 5-1 to Chelsea.
In the week they were lauding their player for getting sent off for a dangerous tackle at Stockport and now they’re up in arms once they’re on the wrong end of it.
Feel desperately sorry for Tshimanga who will no doubt play at a much higher level, but don’t feel the slightest bit sorry for the club, hope this is the start of their capitulation this season.

Dembele given 9 out of 10 (MOM) on his full debut by the local paper. They said his winning goal was excellent.

Why do we hate Chesterfield again?
Very sad to see a player suffer a serious injury, which some don't come back from, especially when he looked destined to go onto a very successful career.
Can't blame their fans for being angry if the challenge was reckless - most people on here still hold a grudge against Challinor (justifiably).
Hopefully he makes a full return next season.

I don't like to see any player seriously injured no matter who he plays for.
Chesterfield will miss him and his goals and I can see them struggling to win games as he scored most of their goals.
We have a good chance of a play off place now we have starting winning again.
Good luck to Tshimango on his recovery and keep it up town we can still do this.

I haven't seen the challenge but I saw Weymouth get torn apart by King's Lynn last week. Funny old game at times but they were lucky not to have a man sent off in the first minute last week.
Such a crucial time of the season and he's such a pivotal player for them that will be hard to replace. I wish Tshimanga a speedy recovery and hope he's able to return to his best again soon.

Sorry for the individual....not the club....
Could however bizarrely improve them, they have been so reliant on him scoring that in the games I have seen they just punt it up and wait for him him to get on the end of one of them , not having that option may force them to play better football

I couldn’t really care less about who he plays for, and there are plenty of other clubs higher up my pecking order of dislike than Chesterfield anyway.
Ultimately, Tshimanga is a player I’d have loved us to sign in the summer and has been the standout player in this division for the past two seasons running - he’d earned the opportunity to play at a higher level next season one way or another. It’s the bloke’s living, so I find it hard to have anything but sympathy for him.
Parallels with Liam Hearn. A player destined to play at least a couple of levels higher who never got the chance due to misfortune. I wish the lad well in his recovery.

It's great shame fr the player and for all football fans. I want to see my team compete against the best possible opposition so can't feel anything but sympathy for Tshimanga. As Poojah said Hearn ws destined for great things before his injuries and these things can literally be life changing. No gloating here, just best wishes to the lad

I hope the lad makes a full recovery.
He is clearly a talented player who could no doubt play at a higher level. He looked on target to score 40 or more this season. It's very bad luck that he is probably out for the rest of the season, and it will obviously make things harder for them in the run in without his weekly goal contribution.
Regarding Chesterfield, my take on it is that they invested serious money on a proven goal scorer. I still believe its what we need to do, but recently we never seem to sign players that demand that kind of transfer fee. As has been proven time and time again, more often than not you do need to splash the cash a bit to get out of this league.

Was just a matter of time for a man one band like Tshimanga FC. All the eggs and one basket. Watch them fall like a stone now. Your star player is always gonna receive plenty of "robust" or industrial challenges from the pub teams in this league. Stop Tshimanga and at best you're either gonna win or get a point against Tshimanga FC. Isn't rocket science.
I'd imagine they will be pretty well insured for a £250 k asset. If not, oops. Hope the lad makes a swift recovery, he is an honest pro and has earned his right to play at a higher level.

Wishing the lad a speedy recovery. He'll do well to reach the heights he has does this season which is cruel on the bloke.
Saw the challenge on twitter and although it was clearly a firm one the player most definitely won the ball. The video is from a distance so it's hard to see if there's any 'hidden' malice, but if the injury doesn't happen then I think people would describe it as an amazing challenge.

What has been overlooked is that Chesterfield drew with a very poor side and had Tshimanga still been on the pitch, they would probably have won and he may have even got the second goal to kill the game.
Suspect there would have been an element of shock among their players and a loss of concentration, which led to the Weymouth equaliser, but I expect the team who will benefit most from this will be Stockport, who I now make clear favourites for the title.
As an aside, if we had drawn at Weymouth to a very late leveller, this site would be a lot busier than it is.

Albeit not the best view, just looks like the kind of tackle McAtee slams in to on the touch line each week. Definitely looks like the Weymouth player gets the ball but obviously KT gets smashed in the follow-through.
Understandable that Chesterfield fans are upset about it because he’s probably the leagues most coveted player but it looks to me like it’s just unfortunate.
Probably know more in the coming days but I doubt we’ll see him again before August at the earliest.
