I know those were the dates published by the NL in May 2021, but the regular season definitely finishes on Sunday May 15th.

Tell her you know a lovely hotel near Wembley!  Find a spa nearby to treat her and tell her you're going for a nice walk for a couple of house while she get pampered.

Just in case we do get to Wembley, where’s the best place to stop over without actually stopping in London? Thinking outside London and getting train/tube in to Wembley.
Always gone down by bus before, hence why I ask.

Buy her a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine. If that doesn't work, get her a cat!

Shouldn't worry that boat has sailed.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you give him an excuse for him to escape from the wife and kids for the weekend and drink lots of beer.

Stayed at North Ruislip before (Days Hotel?), as overland train to Wembley, which in my experience can be easier to get back on when a big crowd than the tube
