I see the club is advertising for local companies who can help with the installation of a new PA system, or at least people who can put them in touch with people with the correct skill sets.

Obviously this improvement has been needed for many years, and will be money well spent whether we stay at BP or not.

I was wondering in this day and age whether a full hardwired system is necessary? In domestic settings things have moved on apace since we all had 6-foot speakers in the corner of the room, so I wondered if it was more a technology issue, or whether it means miles of new cabling etc.

What would be the most cost-effective methods for the club - do we have any speaker systems experts amongst us??

I'm not an expert by any means but I do know that wireless transmission of sound using a system like bluetooth is hampered by cost over any distances further than your average living room. There is nothin quite like good quality cabling, trusted and known technology. No way around it that I know

I wonder if this request has anything to do with the B Corps stuff, keeping business and engagement in the local community etc ?

My understanding is that cost is an issue.

I suspect cost is an issue, but value for money too. The state of the ground can’t help and laying cables, speakers and the like isn’t cheap at the best of times.

A wireless system wouldn’t be much use if have thought given the size of the venue.

It’s good to see they aren’t just making do…

I can recommend they dont use the company that Altrincham use, their system was probably worse than ours.

The trouble with house stadium  systems is the acoustics of the stand  .If the speakers are in the wrong place it will just echo and sound distorted .as it bounces about.. This can be overcome sometimes by having the speakers point strait down  like a house system in a club so sound can be absorbed in stead of bouncing around

I would imagine the sound in the Main Stand and Osmond is the easiest to sort out, once you've sorted out cabling anyway.

The Lower will no doubt be the hardest.

Chester had their PA system updated a couple of seasons back. - seem very happy with it.
Ground capacity circa 6000.
Somebody there will know who.
