If this trend is going to continue, think PH needs to nail down a penalty taker - McAtee has missed 2 now and Taylor's effort yesterday wasn't exactly clinical. It's another of those little things that could make the difference between winning and losing

Not sure how you can class Taylors effort as not exactly clinical? Keeper went the right way and it rolled into the side netting. About as clinical as it can get really.

Though it’s not good enough the officiating seems better than I remember it from when we where down here before and no different to some of the muppets we had in L2.

I think our view of officials is directly related to our league position and results. Had we not won yesterday we would  have slaughtered the ref for the yellow instead of red card  incident.
It’s only when a team gets a poor result the fans tend to look at reasons and question officials. I thought yesterday’s ref actually let the game flow more than most and didn’t blow up for every slight contact.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Looked like it only just trickled in.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

Again, the keeper (that had already saved 1) went the right way and the ball hit the side netting. Mental to think you cant score a penalty well enough.

If Hunt is on the pitch, I wouldn't imagine anyone strikes a dead ball better. However, we always said you keep your penalty taker until he misses two on the bounce. Taylor must now be on them.

Hunt wanted to take it but Taylor shooed him away pretty quickly!

I would have said their keeper didn't save the first. It hit his leg as McAtee hit it straight down the middle.

Looking at Taylor's pen again, he hit it harder than it seemed on first viewing.

This is something we were discussing yesterday. For the vast majority of games down here, even if we were doing well, the atmosphere was flat and only ever an opposition goal away from turning negative.

It’s very, very different this time around and it undoubtedly makes it harder for the opposition. Before, they knew that frustrating us or scoring early would turn the crowd against the team, but that’s no longer the case. I can’t imagine BP is a place teams will relish coming right now.

Some tasty home games up next; Yeovil, Notts County, Boreham Wood and Chesterfield are the next four.

I recall reading an article by an ex Sunderland player I think it was about the early or mid 90s when they were in the championship. He was saying how the opposition would play to keep it tight for the first 20 minutes or so and that was all it took for the crowd to start to get inpatient and then not much after begin to turn, and home advantage became disadvantage. It was a known issue with their fanbase that opposition teams exploited. I think that was true to a lesser degree with our home matches last time around.

We were top for a good couple months in 2013. You only ever saw it going downhill from there though…

Aye, were top pretty much from November to February, with Braintree bookends.
