I wonder what the four hangers on are doing today? Morais, Rose, Williams and Jackson Jnr.

Should Hurst insist that if they are still under contract for us they should make an appearance at the match even though they will only be in the stands, or should the message be 'dont darken our doorstep again'?

Morais was sat with the players in the Main Stand today. Interestingly he was the only one not wearing club gear.

Rose was there as well. I was quite surprised to see him.

I'm sure if vaccine passports become compulsory for sporting events we won't be seeing him at BP for long.

Why kit him out when he’s not staying long….. all being well 😉

I would imagine there is an agreement of sorts in place that their contracts will be terminated by mutual consent if they find a new club. They won't want to be at a club, not getting any game time as it'll mean a bigger drop down when the contract expires. Similarly though, they may be struggling to find a new club with a similar wage which is causing them to stay here for now.

They will still have mortgages/rent to pay and possibly children in schools etc. Just because we don't rate them as footballers doesn't mean they're not entitled to fulfil the contract they were offered. They might be struggling to find a club with a suitable wage or in a suitable location.

The best thing for everyone is for us to either take the hit and pay-up, which presumably affects our transfer budget for this season considerably, or offer them out on loan, pay the wages and hope they can impress someone enough to take them off our hands.

Morais seems a good bloke from what I can see. I noticed he put a few quid into a fundraising for a local young lad who sadly passed away some time ago, he was headbutted by a mardy crackpot and from the outside looking in, hasn't done anything wrong. Morais is excellent on the ball and I'm sure he was a very good player but he's 37 years old and should never have been signed by a mad manager.

Rose is 33 and probably past his best, Williams has gone as others have said and Jackson Jnr seems to have given it his best shot but hasn't been deemed good enough to play.

None of them are 'hangers on', they are under contract and like any one of us will want that contract honouring. Good luck to all of them.
