Can't believe I get to be the first to say this, but...

When did defibs get you 3 points on a Saturday?

Great work by the Trust, well done to everyone involved!

Excellent from the trust, but im amazed the club has not seen fit to install these before now.

To be fair, JF always had a couple of jump leads in the car in case of such an eventuality.

I donā€™t think St. John have provided the medical cover at BP for some years. To my knowledge itā€™s a local company who employ local paramedics, technicians and even nurses and doctors. Not sure if they have defibs or not though. 5 is quite a number of them though, Iā€™m guessing one for each stand and then one in upper? Well done the trust!

St. Johnā€™s stopped this once it became commercially unviable for them to pay for the ā€˜first aid matchday experience packageā€™ that was on offer

To be fair, the club already has 2 defibrillators. The Trust have just bolstered our defibrillating stock by 5.

I do have a serious question though. Obviously it is something we hope to never need but how do we know they work? Do they get tested periodically?

Ours at work gets serviced yearly by a professional. I think that's standard, perhaps even a legal requirement? I think they need rewiring and new sticky patches adding back on after use so I don't think it's easy to test them yourself. My understanding is that they don't really deteriorate if they're just sat waiting to be used. We've got a practice one here and it's really durable for the amount of use it gets.

Charlie Edinburgh (son of Justin) put this on Twitter. Our village defibrilator is just over the lane from us, but until i'd watched this i'd never have dared to use it. The video certainly changed that.

I will be part of the training team for defib for staff including any players who would like to take part.  To be honest as long as you listen to the instructions they are very easy to use. We will be training for free.

I think it should be mandatory for all stewards, if the unthinkable happens stewards need to be comfortable and trained in how to use it.
