I still can't believe how much we all got sucked in by all the bulshit

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Didn’t look or sound particularly well to me. Certainly seems to have lost his ‘irreverent charm’. He made one or two inflammatory comments regards Town but I’ll hold back for now as I do question his physical and / or mental health.

I was only saying to a mate (not a Town fan) a few weeks ago that I thought he was losing it a bit well before he left.

I said the same at the time, but remember he did lose his best friend to suicide. It was seemingly after that that he started going downhill rapidly. Grief can do bad things to a person's mind.

No doubt grief can do bad things to fool but he was a flipping charlatan well before he came to town….

I really can't be @rsed listening to someone with such low integrity. I'm amazed that Quest would engage someone who is now completely irrelevant in terms of the game.

Spent the last few days in York, and in one of the pubs he was on the sports channel on TV giving it large and being his somewhat "amusing" self... the locals were left in absolutely no doubt about what GTFC fans think about him... I couldn't watch the smarmy assole... FU runaway...   UTM  !!!

I think the reason his failure here particularly affects Town fans as at the time almost to a man/woman everyone was sucked in and most thought it was finally the start of us being an exciting league team after all those years. To the other clubs he done over it’s just a footnote in their history In the Prem or EPL. For us it was the beginning of our return to hell.

Why is this fraud still being given airtime?

I didn’t find him particularly amusing or insightful before he came Town manager, are Quest that short of credible pundits to comment on the EFL?

There were two Holloway's,  pre covid and post covid.....pre covid he had built  a hard working side with some quality that  had most of us thinking we would be a threat the next season......the post Covid version was completely lost and embarrassing.

I don’t think there was such a change in him. Underlying it all he must have been unstable already.

I’m sure that within the world of football it’s well known how he behaved and treated us. With that in mind I am sure he will never get another job managing a football club. Therefore Quest, and let’s face it it’s not exactly Match of the Day with Lineker and Shearer, will be the only gig he can get. Thank God.

Honestly do any of you wonder what it would have been like without the covid situation?
We roundly blame him but we all know the biggest problem at the club was the non chairman.

I’m not saying Holloway was great but I’m pretty sure if covid hadn’t turned up we would still be in the league and not in the position the board put us in. I fully blame the board and honestly don’t feel that sour again Holloway.
The rotten root cause was to blame!

Would he have got better funds come January ? At the point he left it looked unlikely as the deal for the takeover was dead and no hope likely. Not being funny but if you aren’t given the tools to do a job most people quit.

No sorry he was firmly in bed with fenty and immediately it became apparent that fenty position within the club had become untenable the phoney illegitimate jumped

Yes, it was widely reported that he said they were good people too…

I don’t think for one minute it would’ve been any better without Covid. Holloway has always been a flipping fraud and enough of us knew that the relationship between him and Fenty was a concern…

It is clear he must have been aware of May's offer / involvement but as far as I am aware he still hasn't had the honesty to admit it hiding instead behind the fact that Fenty was selling up as his excuse for legging it.

Never liked him from day 1

Holloway decided to have one pre season game, proudly boasted he had found three young strikers for the price of two, signed a load of permanent and loan players without ever seeing them play, just on the recommendation of some mates, brought together a huge squad, thought league 2 goalkeepers and centre halves could play like Barcelona, put 15 year olds on the bench at the expense of experienced players, played darts at the training ground breaching Covid regulations, claimed Mohsni had left but the player himself had no idea. Covid may have contributed, but those decisions rest firmly at his feet.

Seem to remember Rod Liddle's scathing opinion of IH in the Guardian & the list of clubs he had left in the lurch.
It would seem he was a one hit wonder at the Oyston's Blackpool?

Was he actually board member? He said he would put in £100,000 of his own money and therefore get a seat on the board. However, he never did that so I wonder whether he ever took his seat. With his lies and the way he walked out and then had the temerity to say he left us in better shape than we were in when he first arrived, I can still get very angry just even thinking about the horrible man.

Lke most I was delighted when Holloway was appointed. And as a previous poster has said there was a marked difference between him and his team pre covid and after.

As time went on his 'eccentric' humour and behaviour became even more bizarre.

It went downhill pretty quickly and we're not the first club he had struggled at. I personally think the game had passed him by somewhat and he was already living on his (distant) past reputation. I would be surprised if another job came up for him now but you never know. TV is probably the best place for him but even now his patter is getting old and tired. TV will eventually see that too.

But as much as he deserves to take some flak for the way it all ended at Blundell Park. It ended up disastrous. But do not forget the responsibility of Fenty and the meek board in our demise. It's not all on Holloways shoulders. Fenty was clearly looking to sell before covid struck. You have to wonder how much of the appalling recruitment last summer was down to Holloways ineptitude in the circumstances clubs were operating in or down to Fenty and his board not wanting to fund what was actually required. Hence we ended up with inexperienced academy players, journeymen and players from the depths of non league who simply werent good enough. Hiding behind the covid excuse and lack of income for lack of investment.

To be honest I think both Holloway and the board fully expected the season to be cancelled so decided to put all their eggs in that basket. Lots of unknown players from leagues bellow and 7 bloody loans. That was almost certainly the thinking behind the embarrassing pre season. Chickens came home to roost unfortunately 😕
