Now that Jock Dock Tower has sadly passed away we don't have any mention of Scottish Non-league football anymore.

However, as my namesake team Brechin City were relegated to The Highland League last season, I have been keeping an eye on things there. A fantastic start for Brechin, winning their first 3 matches but this result last Saturday stood out for me....

Surely the poor bloke should be getting some help this season or else he's going to get hammered every week!

We've driven through Auchinleck a couple of times travelling up through Scotland and always think of JDT.

Was in the Highlands last week and will be again next week. Currently in a very wet and windy Kirkwall on the Orkneys.

There are loads of Scottish flags up round these parts as you would expect, but also a baffling number of Italian flags, until it dawned on me why.

I don't understand it - but they seem to generally have an inbred  hatred of the English.

I seem to recall Andy  Murray saying that he hoped Argentina would win before a game against them - but wriggled out of it when he realised the Wimbledon crowd, who gave him so much support, may turn against him..

That kind of small minded Scot is the worst kind of ignoramous.

Anyway back to the football, that bloke Ross did alright. Went to his head calling himself Ross County though.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Knew a guy called Keith, but everyone used to call him 'Keth' because he lost an eye.

Our lad worked at Haggerston Castle Holiday Park for a while and he told us the Scots hatred for the English was on another level.

I always get great pleasure now when the Scottish teams lose except for possibly Rangers.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”
