Lenny is almost certain he’ll be back for the first home game of the season with a small chance he’ll make the opener at Bromley (I heard him mention it at the open day today).

So, his injury doesn’t sound too serious.

Is Max Wright actually worth the wage he’s being paid? Yes I think he has talent and he’s certainly very very quick. Therefore presumably it’s thought within the club that he could be improved with coaching and turn into a decent player. However he’s permanently injured, he was out for nearly the whole of last season. I just don’t get it how a very fit young man constantly picks up injury after injury. I’m getting to the stage now whereby I think it might just be worth us cutting our losses. Thoughts please.

This season is certainly huge for him with his contract being up in the summer. Unless he gets his fitness right, he might be struggling for a club in a year. However, if he can play the majority of this season, I think he could be a fairly tidy player at this level. Finger crossed for the lad!

It is a crying shame as I think he is a really effective player, but unless he can show he can survive the rigours of pro football his career will be over before it really gets going. I would always have a fit Wright in the team.

Is it a different injury each time, or is it a pattern of injuries that plague him?

Four of those will probably  not make the first 11 anyway.

Something seriously wrong with Max, should not be getting the number of injuries he does at his age.

I totally agree. Could it be mental as well as physical? As already stated by others on this thread as well as myself, no player should be injured that often or for that long.

Wright has been given every chance. Smashing payer but he can’t go on treating the club like a convalescent home. I don’t blame any of the managers, even the last one. I know Hurst has said as much but he needs telling that this really is his last chance saloon . Breakthrough or go by Christmas.

You say it as if he’s shirking?

I imagine he’s absolutely devastated to be injured. He’ll be one of our low earners and has a real chance to be a starter in this league. The poor lad is probably desperate to play.
I imagine he’s just very unlucky, I’m not sure if it’s a recurring problem, but I hope his bad luck ends soon.
