Would be nice if the club actually stood up for supporters and refused all these requests for once. Certainly means I'll not be bothering with Southend away this season now.

Surely the club could refuse the unnecessary need to move these games…

It’s excrement moving the game, but I remember when we played in the rain one March Friday 31 years ago.😁

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Im sure they could but I expect this will be a mutual agreement between both clubs so that the away team in each fixture can travel on the day and save on hotel costs.

That's a home (Season Ticket) game I am unlikely to be able to get to, and an away game I definitely won't be able to go to.  Very disappointed, would like to know exactly why they have been changed.

Also looking at FA Trophy dates, if we do well it would mean one home game (Aldershot) moved to mid week, and two attractive away games (Chesterfield & Yeovil) also moved to mid week. The FA Cup will also cause fixture changes, for example if we get through to the 2nd round the away game at Dagenham & Redbridge will move to mid week. Although if we get to the 3rd round it will not result in a fixture move as this will be one of our 'bye' dates.

I suppose I should not look too far into the season and make plans, because things always change due to cup runs, bad weather and tv games (Oh and the police).

I remember when all teams played every week at 3pm on a Saturday. I am sorry to say those days have long gone.

Brilliant, won’t be able to go to that home game now then. Really does take the p!ss to move games around after people have paid for season tickets.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Brings back memories of Big Keef scoring a brace (one with his knees) all those years ago.

We had a spell where we always had 1 Friday night home game a season (usually prior to Christmas) and everyone moaned back then too. And every season it would be the highest non-Bank Holiday/Local Derby attendance of the season.

Don’t worry Dad, I don’t work Fridays so I can drive you to both games no problem. I do however charge 50% more for driving after 9PM.

I always thought that Southend played their home games on a Friday night. Same as Tranmere used to.

I don't see why our home game should have been changed which is one less game for me to go to as I travel from Surrey and leave home at 7.00 in the morning to get to the game and then get the 5.24pm train from Cleethorpes arriving home about 10.30pm.

As I remember they always used to play on a Friday night as they have big Saturday local leagues. I suppose it means you can let your daughters out on a Friday now as Phil Brown is busy

Been to watch Town at Southend on a Friday night. They use to play on Friday because of all the big London games on a Saturday.

Years ago I was going to Southend on a Friday night but I was offered overtime on the Saturday which meant a very early rise on Saturday morning as I was a lorry driver so I decided against it.

On the way back from my deliveries I pulled into the services and bought a paper. Looking through the paper I saw we had won which was great. However, I then noticed there was an error in the paper as it said Southport 0 Grimsby 1. I thought stupid paper and then realised I was the 'stupid boy' as Town were at Southport.

At least working that overtime meant I earned some money and saved a pointless 160 mile round trip.

Looking on 11v11 the match was on 12 October 1973

Yeah, when I went to that 2-0 win in 1990? I paid my only ever visit to White Hart Lane on the Saturday to see Spurs beat Man U 3-1.

Didn't they used to have a market on the car park next to the ground on Saturdays.

Anyway their manager has done this before.

Good find that. I would like to hear our rationale for supporting it and how that balances with peeing a few fans off.

We went in the 70's Les. We had a mate who lived in London, so we met up and he put us up for the night. I think we went to watch Chelsea Spurs at Stamford Bridge behind the infamous electrified fence. Boring 0-0 draw.

Always been a big West Ham area with Southend's crowd boosted by them, that's why they used to play regularly on a Friday night.

Didn't they know this before the fixture list came out?  I think they are scared of our fan base.
