Impressive.  Not a cat in hell's chance we could have put up the dosh to sign someone who appears that good under the old regime.

But we are in a new reality now. No reason why we cant bring in good talent. Just have to be prepared to make the investment.

They can sign players until they have a first team squad of 24 and there is a restriction on the wage budget I think.

Both he and Guthrie must have been canvassed already by the management team to be trialling in the 1st place.

Perhaps monetary discussions will have been discussed upon successful trial completion in both cases??

Would have thought that Hurst is savvy enough in pre talks to stop poaching being done during a trial period?

Of course, they still have to impress in trials, as people say, player reels can be deceptive !

I think it's just a case of it is what it is. From the players point of view, if Hurst thought he was any good, he would have signed him without a trial like he did the 10 before him.

In reality, he probably doesn’t have much to go off considering he’s never played in England. Not a matter of he doesn’t think he’s not good, he’s just an unknown.
