Alderman Osmond owned the aerosol factory that I believe was located somewhere near Doughty Road. It was a big employer especially of women. My mother worked there for a while in the 40s. The stand was so named not because he opened it but because his company paid most of the cost.

Probably as well that Ticklers didn’t sponsor a stand at BP.
