It's a slight surprise he's not found a club at this level at least though. If fit and used correctly, I'd have thought he'd have been reasonably effective in the National League. Clearly concerns about his fitness are the major issue, but thought a full-time deal heavily weighted towards appearances might have been attractive to someone at this level, and more attractive than a part-time deal at Farsley Celtic. Convenient for him geographically though, I imagine.

When you consider both Hansen & Gibson were part of our 1st team squad last year, and have now dropped to leagues under NL prem, then it doesn't say much for their quality; or aspirations to continue playing at a high level (EFL 2).

supposed to have rejected a few league 2 clubs, guess Farsley makes sense for him as it's close to his home.

Looking at his unveiling it was mentioned he had turned down League Two and National League sides, he knew the Farsley Assistant Manager and wanted to play somewhere local as he had been travelling to and from his previous teams (assuming he just meant Town and not Wimbledon). I would imagine this is the start of the beginning for him over the next few seasons, granted he is 33 now.

He had a great start to his GTFC career. Didn't he score 5 in August, or something like that?
Took him nearly two years to double that tally for us. I never really questioned his attitude, only his fitness, which, as we all knew, was a gamble from the start.
A Bradford mate of mine always rated him highly, even after he joined us. The way he started the 18/19 season suggested he could have been the 15-20-goal striker we wanted.
Decent bloke, decent footballer. Shame we only saw the best of him for about a month.

The thing I could never really shake about Hanson was his relatively miraculous recovery from injury once Holloway left.
5 appearances under Holloway, Hurst came in at Xmas and within 3 weeks he was back in the fold and made 18 appearances in the remaining games.
It may well just be coincidence but it just left that sour taste for me. Don't get me wrong, it's quite clear that some players had issues with Holloway and his methods. But when you're still drawing a wage...

I think some of that is because Holloway's stupid run was breaking him down but Hurst came in and probably managed him properly.

No, I agree with that completely. There's absolutely no doubt that Holloway's methods were a joke.
It was just a very, very quick turnaround from completely broken to playing games.
