So the takeover deal is expected to finally cross the finishing line this Wednesday, it's been a long time coming.

Does anybody know if the GM is going to be streamed as a Virtual Meeting, or indeed, if the processes and outcomes are going to be reported "live"?

Just a point:

I emailed my Proxy form on Friday at 17:25. I've now noticed that the form is supposed to arrive at the GTFC office at least 48 hours prior to the meeting - so 3 pm on Monday. But Monday is a Bank holiday so does this mean that the cut off was 3 pm on Friday? Is Saturday classed as a "normal Business Day" in Football?

I also know that someone emailed their form at midday today. If the 48 hours and non working days are held fast, I'd think quite a few people are going to miss out on their votes being recorded.

I'll be well pi$$ed off if that happens to me!

Fenty’s mouthpieces have got to go surely.

No idea aldi, it was an open Zoom call by the Trust for any supporters with questions on the takeover and they didn't elaborate other than that he was staying.

I was already in shock at that point after an old guy on the call (who was linked to the Grimsby Freeman) made a comment about "What a wonderful job Mr Fenty had done during his time in charge".

That comment was met by several seconds of shock and silence from everybody on the call - whilst a tumbleweed rolled by - and then somebody quickly changed the subject.

Until his remarks about May’s crimes being not that bad because they were committed against companies, Day seemed the least unacceptable face of the Fenty clique. Prior to that he’d come across as relatively sensible.

Totally agree with that but there isn't a way back after that car crash interview just before Christmas.

Surely that person had one of those nose/glasses combo’s on, a disguise and it was just Fenty once again putting himself in to something Becauee his narcissistic personality couldn’t cope with not being the centre of a attention?

I won't be happy if Phillip Day remains on the board, his interview just before Christmas was unacceptable.

If he does remain on the board I hope it is only a short lived thing.

Not having that..

Championship in five years, Covid clauses, Vernam contract, promoting the salary cap, Matt Dean bullying self satisfied smirk and being an integral part of the destruction of our club along with the May shenanigans and embarrassing radio interview..

Day isn't the sweet old talking sense grandpa that everyone thought he was and he's one of the most incompetent chairmen we've ever had..

Serious misgivings about Stockwood and Pettit if he remains on the board..

Day is full of sh1t, via Matt Dean on RH I asked him exactly why season tickets weren’t subject to refunds I didn’t want a refund but just wanted to understand the basis of the policy, his response live on local radio “well we told everyone who bought one they would not get a refund”...... smarmy tw@t.

In terms of being a director of a football club he’s proved that he’s a rank amateur with no imagination. What did he invest £5K? If that’s the case I’ll give him that to buy his equity if it means he’ll f**k off.

Day and people like him are whats wrong with people who run football clubs, especially lower league football clubs. They come aboard with a fanfare and the bare minimum of share purchase and proceed to tell everybody that they don't know what they're talking about. These tinpot little men create tinpot little clubs and when their tinpot little world starts collapsing around them, they start to blame the fans whilst at the same time squeezing every little bit of cash from every last fan. They have no answers, they don't need to answer to anybody as far as they're concerned it's their club and the rest of us don't count. They are dinosaurs who destroy clubs. They live in a time that no longer exists, we no longer doff our caps and kow tow to these people who think they are the cream of the crop, the leaders of our community, because they've been found out, they are charlatans.

Hopefully our new owners are a new, modern breed who understand the fanbase.

People like Day should be run out of the club along with his overlord. However I think the new owners will aid a smooth transition by thanking Day for all he has done for the club and the help he has given in the matter of their takeover.

And when you fall back into the mud it hurts a lot.
No! None of it was true, none of those things we thought we could see existed at all.
All that was really there was still more misery

I suspect Day is well meaning but incompetent.  He’s a local lawyer - it’s hardly a qualification for running a football club.  He isn’t an associate of Fenty’s and it looked like he kept the take over moving forward despite Fenty’s behaviour.  We should expect better but I would let him slip off with a polite thank you rather than drive him out of the town.

When you think about it rationally the new owners need someone to help them with the transition. Ordinarily that would be a Chief Executive but he's probably busy cutting the grass.

Day is probably only guilty of being unstintingly loyal to the Fenty regime. That aside, he would offer a bit of stability to the transition period for a fixed (and limited) time.

His address in Companies House is about 50 yards away from Fenty's, which makes him close enough to be an associate to me. Are you a friend of Fillipe?

Day is as culpable as Fenty. People like Day enabled Fenty to continue to do what he liked and offered little or no challenge.

I don’t trust Day one iota and his comments about May were quite frankly embarrassing and disgraceful.

Sadly, I can see the consortium keeping him, if only for a very short time to aid the transition but it doesn’t take a genius to realise Day brings absolutely nothing to the table...
