Unbelievable that he can manage to play in a game at that level without food or fluids over the last 15 hours!

Absolutely brilliant that he sticks to his Muslim beliefs. I just wish that many so Christians would do the same.

It seems a little strange that Fofana (salary £50,000 pw) follows the fasting rules so strictly, yet plays football during Ramadan for ‘money and prizes’, which is considered kafir.

That’s before you factor in that Leicester City is owned by a Thai family who made their money from peddling fags and alcohol. Thailand of course being on the human rights watch for their treatment of (and the disappearance of) many in the minority Muslim community.

No problem with people following their religious beliefs but there does appear to be a lack of consistency.

I’ve captained Kelechi Iheanacho (a Christian) in my Fantasy team this week so hopefully he parts the red (and white) sea in the second half.

I will never understand why people have ‘religious beliefs’ in the 21st century. I’ll not elaborate TOO much on this as incredibly I still seem to be in the minority compared to society overall, but I actually have faith in my Grimsby brethren and believe I’m in the majority around these parts. But if I’m not, so be it, no drama.

Not wanting to derail this thread, but if Christians lived by biblical rules they'd all be imprisoned within hours.

Didn’t Mo Salah and Sadio Mane and other Liverpool muslim players find a way around the Ramadan rules to play the 2019 Champions League semi final at home to Barca fully fueled (might be a different game but seem to think it was a biggie)?

Getting deep into non-footy territory, but you fundamentally misunderstand the basis of Christianity if you think it's about following rules. The core belief is that it's impossible to follow the rules, but Jesus of Nazareth already did on behalf of those who put their faith in him.

(I won't post any more about it here. Theology belongs in non-footy).
