I know most are still down and the blame machine is very raw in one direction. The thought did occur to me that if Dover won their appeal. The National League was found to be operating against their own rules in making/letting clubs take out loans and the vote of no confidence went against the board. What would the repercussions be?
Could the season be made null and void? Could it be argued by Town and Southend that the NL is not a competent league to be relegated to, as it abused its own rules?
I may be clutching at straws, again, but surely every avenue should be looked at by 1878 to avoid relegation. I don't wish to go into the football side as we have all posted accurate reasons for the league position over the last 2 days, but a legal look at the situation however thin shouldn't go amiss.

Guess he’d have to communicate by txt not verbally. After all, it’s rude to talk with your mouth full. 😉

| The wife was going away for a girly weekend. I jokingly remarked 'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football' 'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked She said 'Well you already know how to play football' |

I don't wish to go into the football side as we have all posted accurate reasons for the league position over the last 2 days, but a legal look at the situation however thin shouldn't go amiss.
I've been following the National League situation fairly closely as I live a few minutes' drive from King's Lynn Town's ground and covered a few of their games earlier in the season while a colleague was on furlough. Lynn very nearly went the same way as Dover because of the mess the National League made of the support offered to them by the government. They've put a number of players on furlough and brought several more in who are basically playing for nothing to get them through their remaining games. Their chairman has also said publicly that there is very little sympathy for Dover among National League clubs. Certainly the vote when clubs were asked whether to scrap the season or not, which I think was something like two to one against, would suggest that. From what I've read via our colleagues in Kent, it looks as though Dover's appeal isn't going to be heard until June, suggesting it will be pretty close to the start of next season at the earliest before we get a decision. Given the rest of the league is still playing, though, I can't see that them winning their appeal would be of any use to us. Besides which, if either we or Southend went down the legal route, there'd be nothing to stop those clubs who had earned the right to play in League Two from pursuing a similar option. The biggest problem in all this isn't the management of any single club, but the management of the National League itself. From what I've seen and read watching Lynn's climb up the pyramid in the last few years, it hasn't improved from our last stint there. It seems to me that they think they're doing OK on the basis of having a television deal and plenty of ex-league teams among their number. I know there are going to be changes in senior positions in the near future, but I'm not hopeful that lessons will be learned from the chaos of the last few months.
