Presumably the kick-off time is going to change?

Next Saturday there is a minute's silence at 15:00 followed by the DoE's funeral. Can't imagine any sport will take place as a result.

Maybe it'll be a 12:30 or 18:00 kick-off?

There seems to be a general acknowledgement that, helped by the pandemic, the DofE is getting his wish of a (relatively) low fuss funeral.

I am pretty confident that if you would have asked Philip, “Sir, would you like Bolton vs Grimsby to be changed from a 3pm kick off in the event of your death?”, he’d have told you to stop being silly and, “Remind that John Plenty chap to lower the flag to half mast this time instead of deconstructing it!”.

I wish British society would be as quick to show a mark of respect to the victims of the Epstein/Maxwell case and force Prince Andrew to speak to the FBI and Scotland Yard.

I would imagine that trying to ‘sort out’ Andrew would have been in his thoughts in his final days. Or telling Wills and Harry to either hug it out or go at it bare knuckle in the car park of Windsor Wetherspoons.

Confirmed that all EFL 3PM kick-offs will be moved to either 12:30 or 17:30 and up to clubs to decide.

I think we should phone Bolton up and ask them which time they prefer and then pick the opposite.

We’d have to trust Bolton not to double bluff us.

I can't stand the royal family but I think your suggestion needs some serious consideration.....the nation needs to heal and it can't do that watching football......
