Guess he still lives local, before this stupid virus came along, used to see him catching the bus home from the majority of home games.

Jeez...thought he'd popped his cloggs when I saw the thread title.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Not yet thank goodness. You have to remember the teams he put out. Todays lot wouldn't even be ball boys. You went to a match wondering not when, but how many we would score.

Unfortunately today's game was the opposite.

How many would they score!

He always sat in the Main stand, the seat in front of me. Always had a chat with him every home game.

I go pre Shankly, but in my opinion, George's was the best team ever.
A squad that had 5 forwards each capable of scoring 20 goals a season, and that is without Mickey Brolley's goals.

As someone said previously, you went to the matches confident that we would win.

Absolute legend, the championship team not only where a god football team they where really together as a squad. It’s a shame that because of the times & technology there is relatively little TV footage to illustrate it.

George deserves lots of credit for turning John Newman’s “good side” coming up from Division 4 into champions the following season.

It did unnerve me though when he used to refer to the Scunts as “us” when he commentated on RH but I guess he had a long association with them as a player so he can be forgiven for that.

Top man, and in all this madness it’s good to hear he’s ok.
