it’s a very poor league this year

Yes, and right now we are the worst team in it.

Thanks Holloway.

I really don't get some people's love in with Ira Jackson. Hopelessly out of his depth unfortunately..

Not hopeless, just no time left to adjust to L2 football. In non league you can get away with a bit of ball watching, lack of anticipation or how to move. Lack of preseason games, seeing a 15 year old on the bench ahead of you and the excess of loan players would have been crushing. I believe he has something but we need hardened L2 players. He would always be ahead of Green in my squad even if it was the reserves.

Has anybody else noticed the opposition in this league are very poor this season. One of the worst being carlisle (now top) and probably the worst Morecambe (playoffs). The threat of relegation doesn’t actually worry me, a few tweaks here or there and we COULD probably beat anyone in this league. UTM!

Think it was John McDermott said last week the quality of player is not much different in League 2 and top end of North Premier league

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I think there is a good player in there but not just yet.
Give him time

Shame we didn't get too many when he was here, a lot of huff but very little puff.

I take it he was just referring to our current squad?

Second half gave me some hope, definitely showed more attacking intent and in all honesty we had opportunities to level the game more than once
Think if Hanson had have been on the pitch to latch onto those crosses of Morais we'd have come away with 1/3 points.
Biggest concern is teams know we have no pace at the back and too easy to be ripped apart down our left side
Desperately need a better, experienced left back, pacier centre back and an out n out, old fashioned striker.
Be good to get Hanson fit for the rest of the season and I'd not be one bit surprised if that happens.
I do wonder if this squad even understood Hollowords ramblings or had the interest to play for him.
