Now am not saying that it’s definitely us, but he is training with a league 2 club at the moment. Would be an excellent signing for anyone at this level and has a wealth of experience.

Has been a cracking player in his time at a much higher level, I can’t help but mention that he’s only played 112 league games in his career and he’ll be 28 in January. Perhaps even more importantly only 27 games since the end of the 2015-16 season.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Midfielder.

Bought by Derby for 3 million, did his cruciate 4 days later. Various other injuries. Offered to play for free for Oxford. Released at the end of last season. Free agent. If he's anywhere near fit, would be a stand out in this league.

There are loads of players out there looking for a contract. If we can sort the wheat from the chaff, there are some good ones out there.

Certainly had some bad injuries, but players come back from worse. Some don't of course but that's where due diligence comes in. We don't even know if it is us he's training with.

There are a lot of free agent players training with various clubs, just trying to keep fit and find a contract somewhere, not necessarily with the club they are training with. Some are offering their services for free just to prove themselves. Wages have been driven down by covid and the salary cap.

I read somewhere  that Jack Wilshere  is looking for a club ( I know he's had injuries ) but apparently keeping himself fit with regular training.  Who knows could get him back in the shop window .
