I'm just watching the extended highlights and the commentator stated that it was 30 years since Scunny last lost to Grimsby at BP in the league.

Is that correct? Statto' s needed.

I know we like to go to their ground and come away with a win but hadn't realised it was the same for them

I did see something like it was the first time we've beat Scunny in back to back league games since 1972 so I wouldn't be shocked if that stat was right. Quick check on 11vs11 and it right we've not beat them at home since 1990

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

Could be because we’ve hardly been in the same division as them during those years, good and (latterly) bad!

We have only played them at home twice in the league since then (before yesterday). A 0-0 draw in 04/05 and a 1-0 defeat last season.  Only other home games since then was 0-0 draw in the FA Cup in 13/14 before we won the replay there and a 2-1 defeat in the JPT(or whatever they call it now) last season.

Yes the last back to back League wins were in Lawrie Macs second season 72/73. Why the feck we appointed their manager, Ron Ashman,
to replace him - I’ve never fathomed. We must have had some decent compensation from Soton. I guess it’s what Grimsby Town boards do, like fail to back Bill Shankly in the transfer market...

I remember the 2-1 win over them on a Tuesday night during Buckley’s 1st era. Always was a good atmosphere under the floodlights in the old pontoon. From what I recall it wasn’t that long after beating Lincoln thanks to a Dave Gilbert penalty
