Once again we are at the wrong end of the table.
Different managers can not seem to get us up the right end .
There are a few good things and a few not so good in having an experienced manager like Ollie.
The bad first, he has not managed or even played at this level so he does not understand ( yet ) he can not keep asking the same players to do things they are not very good at.He has got himself on the board so is aware of all the other problems that come with running a L2 club with no money. This might give him a false sense of security in thinking he is unsackable, he does not know Fenty as well as we do. How many managers has he sacked now ?
I know he wants us to play in a certain way and if the players can not do that he should adapt until he can get the right players in who are on the same wave length and are capable of carrying out his instructions.
The good bit is he has been round the block a few times and should have learnt from his past mistakes as we all should whatever we are doing.
He has got a transfer window to put things right so hopefully he will bring in the players we need and move out the players we dont.
We are all getting frustrated with the same old lines, we played well in parts but defensive errors cost us and we lost again.
We still got a few games to play before the window opens so we should all stick with the lads and Ollie and hope we have a merry Christmas and a happy New year.
If at the end of the season we are still near the bottom I can never see us improving until big changes are made at the top and we have a chairman and board who will invest in our great club.
If nothing happens to brighten our moods I for one and I think many more will say ' that's enough I can not take any more of this season after season '

Back to basics, sign some experience, preferably midfielders who can put the ball near the goal and a striker who can put it in it. Play defensive, ugly, percentage football and try get to the end of the season in this league and start from scratch in the summer.

Stick together, sign a combative midfielder, a creative midfielder and a decent forward. Sweep away those who are not fit, up to it or fighting for the cause. Littered with cliches and obvious statements but we need to accept, whether defeatist or not, we are in a relegation scrap. 3 good signings whether they are loans or not are a necessity. They have to be better than what we have or what is the point?

The problem we have is we are now known as a struggling club in a small town so we are the last resort for most young players.

Perhaps, after 20 years of misery, but we don't need Ronaldo and Messi - just 3 or 4 older pros who can settle it all down.

Depends Pete on how much of a salary they want if they are experienced EFL players of some quality which is what we need.

Yes, and have racked up 7 figure losses for the last few years. Apparently that's what we should aspire to. I'd love it if somebody came in and chucked millions at us, but it's not realistic

I don't think it would be a case of millions but it would be nice to know how much those players that haven't been anywhere near the first team or those that have made a brief appearance are costing us compared with a lower number of better players. We could easily have a smaller squad supplemented by the youth team. I mean we have even played a 16 year old school boy ahead of some of our signings.

Now just when Ollie was told money is no object you don't want Messi ?

There's no defence for us ending up with a squad near the salary cap with so many players not good enough. A combination of the covid clauses and Ollies rotation strategies have caused that. One of those is understandable, the other is premier league style tactics that don't even work well at that level. My hope is that the covid clause has meant we have a bit of extra room for the 2nd half of the season given that players have been getting paid less whilst fans aren't present. I still don't see there being much room though, we've overspent on dross for sure.

All fans buy lottery ticket or Euro millions and post to GTFC before draw, Olly could then scout The Maldives or Seychelles for free players.

Hold our nerve and trust Ollie.
He proved he could do it in Jan and turned a poor time around with a few additions and what must have been some good coaching. He's admitted we are to young and he was hoping to have more of our experienced players available more often. He's identified the issue and I am sure he will resolve. The managerial merry-go-round wont solve this one.

If we have reached the salary cap we literally can't get more players even if we have the money?

Off loading will be as important as recruiting as the cap is in place.
As much as the football is all over the place and he’s started to get on my mammaries I think we should stick with Holloway.
I’d like to see us mix it up not completely dropping passing out but some height up front and back the right service.
4-4-2 or at least 2 up front and where possible minimise the rotation. If it goes wrong stop digging the players out in public if it goes right get about as excited as Hurst after a 3 goal win.
We’ll be ok if we just beat the Scunts twice and keep it simple.

How do we get out of this mess. ?
Get Fenty as far away from the club as possible
|
| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |
