Day said they were back on 100% but staff on 75%. Part of the wrangle over AL's dispute and furlough.

If it was that or no wages at all then I imagine most sensible people would

They'll still have jobs for the duration of their contract though. It's not a case of a 25% wage cut or no job. If the club wants them out they'll pay them off.

Granted you could see some respond differently and go all out to put themselves in the shop window. But this all sounds like it's been handled badly going by Holloway's rambling interview the other day, then the announcement about furlough (in a situation when furlough doesn't really apply). Let's not forget Town recruited all these people so if there's too many who is to blame?

It's got all the hallmarks of a major shitshow.

Completely agree on both points.

There are loads of part-timers who are better than their full-time colleagues but it isn't worth their while giving up a decent day job.
Yes. On another note those that do make a successful career of it in the lower leagues especially at one club arent many. I know from our club there was John McDermott and there are others but they are the exception rather the norm. Its a shame that the money isnt better though as this club has such a rich history and was playing what is now premiership football in the 1940s.Long time ago I know but just shows how far we have fallen from grace. Ultimately though money is everything and if your putting your wife and family at risk I think thats what's most important .I understand players are following a dream and who Iam to knock them but hope they have something to fall back on if football doesn't work out. Some players dont bother while they are playing and once retired/injured/released are left in the lurch.

Holloway made it clear pre-season he was struggling to get the players in he wanted because they had to sign some kind of COVID contract, I remember listening to his voice of despair thinking we are in a relegation battle.

Its called professionalism.
At 75% it's still a very good wage compared with the hardships of people heavily affected by the situation at the moment.

I know 11 old age pensioners who would play part time for Town AND do a better job.

??

Who mentioned food banks??
I was responding to a poster suggesting the players didn't give 100%.
