Battersby

I thought he had a promising game, and will be a genuine contender for a run in the team.in the very near future, well done

Must say he seems to have good feet but his positional sense needs working on, plus did hold the ball for too long at times. Made a super save and looks a decent back up but not sure if he's quite at the standard/level yet to put pressure on Macca.

Encouraging, but wont get carried away. Should have done better for the 2nd, think macca needs challenging from elsewhere for time being

In the words of Simon Jordan, you are comparing apples to oranges....one was brought through a world class academy with
the best coaches and the other with Grimsby's academy.. Battersby has promise but nowhere near the same level as Henderson...

True, but from little acorns, mighty oaks grow, I can remember when we had Henderson on the bench and although promising could not buy a game from Macca, in fact it was only pressure from ManU,  that if we did not play him they would take him back, what do we know.
Oh well we'll lose him someday as per norm

Battersby had a year or 2 away from Town in the Sheffield United Academy.

You won't see many better free kicks than that one. The amount of swerve on the ball was untrue and with the two defenders covering the inside post there should have been no way for the ball to be on target - but it was. I dare say that is one of the things the top teams teach their players over and over. So I feel that Battersby was not expecting to have to save from there.

I said before the kick was taken that his positioning meant I'd try and bend it around the wall into that bottom corner, and that's exactly what happened. It was a good free kick for sure, but if Battersby wasn't way over to one side then he'd probably have saved it. Macca does the same thing though, since he prefers diving one way.
